Hi Emma,

Quinoa is my favorite grain and it agrees with me better than white or brown rice. I can't really tolerate white rice at all right now.

I am still wanting to try the cauliflower rice that Chrissie mentions.

Check out the recipe section to see the wonderful recipes posted there using cauliflower rice!

The title is a bit long, but begins with:
Delicious Recipes for Your Dining Enjoyment...

I have heard that mashed cauliflower fixed like mashed potatoes is very delicious and good for you also.

Hi Emma,
Yes I would avoid dairy as much as possible as the lactose turns to sugar in the body.
Coconut cream is a great substitute for whipping cream :-). It is absolutely delicious!
I wouldn't eat white rice, or any refined carbohydrates, as again they turn to sugar in the body too.
Try cauliflower rice, I absolutely love it! With a little lemon juice over the top it's a great rice substitute!
You know, since I found cauliflower rice, I don't miss rice at all!
Best wishes,
Chrissie

Hi Emma,

The only dairy I’ve found I could safely eat has been real butter, but only if it was made in Europe...they have better standards for what cannot be added to food, etc.

The same is true for cheese (European made only), but I only started adding that to my diet after being on the protocol several months.

I’d avoid the whipping cream or any other type of dairy. Almond milk is a good substitute for milk in many cases.

You’ll have to just experiment with the rice...some people can tolerate it and others cannot. I do eat rice occasionally but mostly brown or wild rice.

Just keep reading on this site...there are lots of good ideas about food and many other things as well.

Hey! You lucked out...I usually write epistles that go on and on. Busy busy time of year for me so this one is short.
