Dear Cheryl,

I also hope more people will come to prayer and fellowship. And yes, you make a wonderful point about being able to participate or just listen. Many times newcomers are not ready to share in prayer but need the support of hearing prayer. Thank you for adding that information.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Hi Laura,

Thank you for the post explaining prayer and fellowship.

Hopefully more people will be encouraged to come and take part.

I want to add that it is not mandatory to pray out loud. Anyone is welcome to come and just listen or read something from the Bible when it is their turn.

The same goes for fellowship. It is fine to just listen, to give a general greeting to those present, or to speak directly to someone there.

God bless!

Cheryl

This community provides a time for prayer meeting and fellowship every Sunday. I would like to explain the difference between the two. The first part of the call begins with each person having an opportunity to offer their own prayer to our Lord. During this time it is important to respect this part of our call as we are in prayer with our Lord.

After each person has an opportunity to pray, we begin fellowship. This is when we leave the "Church" and have an open conversation with each other. I like to think of this time as if we have left the "Church" and begin sharing events or things in our lives with our friends. There is no format; just fellowship.

Mel wants to offer all people who show up late an opportunity to pray. So it is my suggestion that if you show up during fellowship, be patient and he can give you time to pray after fellowship. This will keep us in fellowship until all have finished participating. Then after fellowship we can open "Church" up to prayer again making sure to remain respectful to our Lord

If you show up during fellowship please participate and then after fellowship is over, Mel can open our "Church" up again to provide late comers time to offer their prayers. I guess you could say this is a three part prayer meeting; prayer(respecting our Lord), fellowship (open conversation), and prayer again(respecting the Lord) for our late comers.

Hope this is helpful and I am looking forward to praying with this community on Sunday.

"Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble." Psalm 119:165

Laura
