| 2/12/2009 6:11:21 PM Mel, Who would have guessed, that after all the dead ends and abandonment by traditional health care, (except for the compassionate 'Gem' you encouraged me to see, Dr.Shannon Zamboni, with her open mind and willingness to help), that I would finally be here, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Most importantly, I've had something returned to me that I thought I'd lost, HOPE. I thank you, my friend. With that said: To all of you fellow Morgellon sufferers, my intention now is to validate the sincerety of my friend, Mel. Please bear with me, as I may get a little wordy. I have a lot to say. The lake where we live is quite isolated. When I couldn't resolve a worsening skin problem I had, I Googled M.D.s in Reno, NV, to get some help. I came across the Reno Gazette's story on 'The Mysterious Skin Disease'. I didn't like what I read, but I knew without a doubt what I was dealing with was Morgellons. (Thank you Reno Gazette.) Well, there you go, I knew I wasn't crazy, though two Dermotolgists (Psychologist wanna-be's) told me so, as they stopped further investigation of my skin problem. Morgellon's awareness was in it's earliest stage, but I was able to connect with Mary Lietro, from the Morgellon Research webb site. She gave me Mel's phone number. This began a relationship of mutual support, exchange of information and contacts, (and yes, I took horse pills, too), but best of all, emotional help to ease the pain of despair. My grandest message to all of you, is what we shared at the deepest level. Find a cure, and get the word out. That is what Mel is doing now, no other hidden agenda exists. Otherwise, I wouldn't be writing this. After Mel was sure of his own personal success with the treatment he is recommending, he shared this with me, But, before I started, I did my own research. The skeptic that I am, facing an unknown disease process outcome, could not allow a waste of TIME. Morgellons is not a skin disease, it is a fungal colonization and once on board its opportunistic host, it developes a host/reservoir relationship. The organism's charecteristic make-up so closely resembles our own cellular identity, it is diffult for our own immune system to identify. With the increasing Morgellon colony numbers, there is a spiraling-down of our ability to fight it off. In the gastrointestinal system, you end up with an unbalanced normal flora, malabsorption, and decreased vitamin synthesis, essential for a strong immune system and brain function. At the skin level, the sores provide portals for further colonization and a resulting alteration of the skin's normal flora by destroying the competing 'good' bacteria. This further compromises your first line of defense, the skin. You become more of a target for further invasion of this fungus. I have included this information, because it was what I considered, when I evaluated Mel's treatment plan. Do I think it's a good plan, and do I believe a cure is possible? YOU BETCHA! I am two weeks into his regimine. I acquired the Bactrim and Limbrell from my personal Doctor, (thank you, Shannon), and the Thymus Glandular Support, Molecula Silver and MMS on-line. I can not tell you, that I am cured. But, I can tell you that I am seeing initial suttle improvement and changes that tell me I am heading in the right direction. I know in my heart, that I will be back to tell you, I am cured. In fact, I will be screaming it loudly. Mel, I thank you again, and again, and again, from my heart. Yes, my friend, the word is out and it is for all of us. LOVE, Maribeth |
