I saw you are giving your kids garlic, which is anti bacterial. I've used to add tumeric, an Indian spice on my eggs in the morning because it is anti parasitic. I also use organic curry powder, which has other anti parasitic herbs in it as well, on my eggs. John B's protocol has tumeric in it, too.

I use Amazing Grass brand, GREEN SuperFood chocolate drink powder (CACAO CHOCOLATE INFUSION) (2 scoops) with organic unsweetened soymilk and add powdered stevia (NOW brand is the best herbal sweetner with their little scoop in the bottle) to give myself a daily chocolate sweet drink that does not have sugar in it or dairy (both contribute to the bad terrain feeding this condition). Has incredible healing ingredients. Kids love it.

Thanks for all the tips! Sherry, what do you mean when you refer to the 'fungus'....which symptom is that....maybe it's something we haven't gotten yet? I wasn't sure...Gina

When ever you are away from the house, you might carry one of those little plastic lemon containers with lemon in that you find in the grocery store. That way if they start biting you can take that lemon and cover the area to give you some temporary relief.

All good info. Also, spraying with that enzyme spray is helpful. I have that himalayan salt too. A holistic healer suggested a t. or 2 in quart of water - then sit and drink it. I did it. It's very salty. They say don't use regular salt. Only sea or the above. Thanks for the post !

I have been sleeping on this plastic chaise lounge chair for several months now. I got a drill which I was able to attach a brush to the end of(H0me Depot) and I can clean all the nnks and cranies underneath.
Up in Canada we have...you may have it to.. a Janitor's warehouse store where a friend recommended Hydrogen peroxide cleaner. I use the 7% and dilute it about 50/50..depends. You can put it in a squirt bottle(theirs are far better than others) or a chapman garden sprayer. Then I swifer mop it after a few minutes...the bed area I mean but I also do the bathroom and kitchen too. best to re do the bed area before going to sleep. My friend used the steamer with great sucess with bleach in it...he knew how to clean the machine out. I wasn't as sucessful. Watch for mold if the humidity is high. The dehumidifier and air cleaner have been my main aids along with the mop and those blue strong wipe towels(for garages...but they hold up to the cleaner)
I'm also using 1 sheet...same way but I do have a heating pad underneath. Canada is cold. i have a lttle oil heater in case I need it near the bed. I have been freezing things but it doesn't kill the fungi. cool weather slows down the mites and bacteria however. My friend used a hot dryer with good results but my dryers have not been hot enough.
I got rid of the coembola by picking them out after each laundry and watching carefully and getting them whenever I saw one...it was a lt of worrk but I was glad to see them go. The fungal gnats too longer. i try to remember to put the plugs in the drains as I heard they breed in there. I forgot today and there were critters in the tub, ugh. No sweets...a hard one...I drank some chocolate soya milk last night...not good. It must be hard with kids. I'm trying to par things down to a few outfits I like and just rewash...so far it hasn't helped...well you can't leave laundry even in a bag for too long..the hairs(look like lint)...if you roller the clothes double in length after a couple of days. Then these balls with hairs growing out of them form...I don't touch them...use rubber cloves or a paper towel to throw them away...garbage... can with a lid or toilet.
I tried a fogger too..not the miraculous results I expected. My friend said because of the adaption factor you have to change you strategies outside and inside the body..if doing anti parasiticals for the nematodes, anti biotics for the bacteria and anti fungals for the fungus or mold. The protocol handles most of that. i think the testing could be very good to target specific organisms. I found the fungus to be the most stubborn..well it all is really. You can think one aspect is gone and it comes back. The worms take a lot of energy and i found I need more protein. For you , the kids won't like it but Golden Seal(!tsp) mixed in some water really helps me. I tastes strong but I don't think the critters like it at all. Herbalsits carry it but it's an expensive one...lasts long though. That;s my failsafe when I ate something I shouldn't have...but on the chololate milk night I forgot....there is a time lag before you realize yikes. One mom said olive oil with salt in it helped her baby. Someone told me to spray salt water on the skin after oiling. I'm using himalayan salt...you don't need much for a spray bottle. my afvorite oil is coconut and cocao butter...it smells great and...you have to mix it a bit...but it balances out...the hard cocoa and runny coconut become a nice consitency. I'm staring to use vinegar more....mostly on the skin, hair...but a little in some water too. It's a long a long hard road...and anything not easily washable is not my friend...no down, leather, all the fancy stuff. Surprisingly silk works well and the newer stuff washes well. I don't have much of it...but I notice the critters don't like it. Also the older textiles seem to be better that the new stuff(GMO?) so second hand stores look better than they used to to me. I've tried various washiing methods from mms soaking to borax pinsol and vinegar...still not getting the results I want. will keep trying. Good luck my heart goes out to you...I can barely cope with just me...so all the best to you and your family. Sincerely, Sherry Taylor

Thank you for the tips on sleeping. For the past two nights, I reversed the waterproof mattress cover to the plastic side up and have had no problems! I only find one or two specks on it in the morning...possibly from me to it! Anyway, it's so easy to wipe down quickly. I am trying to do things as simply as possible since there's so MUCH cleaning in my life now!!! I don't mind sleeping straight on the plastic...it feels good. I still use a comforter in a dust mite cover on top of me and wonder why there's not a problem there. Hope it stays that way. My theory is that they burrow 'down' and not upwards. It is tougher with the kids affected. My biggest problem is the black specs in my 2 year old's stools. I give her garlic (fresh/raw) in her foods daily. Maybe it's working and that's why I see them in there?? I long for the day I see no more of these. A good thing is I'm on the protocol now and we barely have any 'itchng'...all of our little red bumps are diminishing and I don't see the kids scratch much anymore. I believe their out of our ears for now, too. We put ice water in our ears and let it sit there for a couple of minutes. It seemed like everything else was driving them deeper in. One other new thing...I have a dorm size refrigerator and put all my used clothes in there for a few hours before washing. On the collembola websites it says cold kills them....so maybe this is helping?? I put the items that fit in the freezer part...didn't try the steamer yet. I live in West Virginia...it's now in the 30's outside! Another neat finding..my little girl bumped her head today and I put a cold pack on it....the black specks started to emerge on her face...turns out that ice and cold packs bring them out! It's nice to find natural and harmless ways to fight these! I tried to get in a cold bath, but just couldn't do it! Not a polar bear here!!! But I was able to submerge my hair and scalp. Well, Thanks again, Gina

Gina, you might try sleeping on one of those lounge chairs (those used around pools) if you have room so that you won't infect your mattress. (not the nylon ones with loose webbing but the ones that are wrapped with a tubular thick plastic nylon.) If one type does not work, take it back and try another) Then if you wanted you could cover it with a big plastic yard bag (costo sells some pretty big bags) Then use a sheet on top so that you won't be sticking to the plastic. I only use one sheet, folded in half, one half is the bottom the other the top, that saves on laundry but of course I an only 5' so I can fold it in half the short way and have plenty for both top and bottom.

I actually sleep on my backswing which resembles one of those lounge chairs but it is 3 feet off the ground and has a real thick plastic, rubberized webbing. I happened to have a real big nylon rubberized bag that I put over it because I found them sticking to the webbing and so far they have not attached to the covering, I just shake it outside every morning. And like I said, I use a sheet over it.

Don't know where you live but I'm in northern Ca. I sleep in a warm room and by doing that I can get away with using a thick beach towel rather than blankets. Makes for easier washing<) They make the beach towels pretty big now 40'X72' Also wonder if using an electric blanket would keep them away??? That idea just popped into my mind. Let me know if your steam cleaning idea works? I know this is morg is a handful and more so when you have kids so I hope we can help in anyway. Linda
