"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24
I have come to realize the importance of constantly searching my heart making sure Christ remains there. Although it is difficult to overcome my worldly desires, I must remain true to God's word and to His purpose.
Our Lord Hears you. Keep praying for His mercy!
"I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live." Psalm 116:1-2
Stand fast therefor in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
"Don't let the devil take a hold of your mindset and pull you back into bondage. You are winning. Believe it!"
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10
This scripture says it all. I now open my heart and seek Christ as I have truly been lost with this disease.
“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:8
This verse was part of my daily devotional which I have heard and read many times. However, today I received a new message from it. I will now ASK; Christ into my life, RECEIVE; Christ into my heart, SEEK; His truth, and OPEN the door to my new life with Christ.
Stand fast in the liberty which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
I can't thank you enough for sharing. After reading your post I was breathless. It was so moving, again I thank you.
I've been praying for those affected by this Hurricane Irma, so I'll be praying for you. God is in control!
Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Stay safe & God bless!,
As I sit here tired and yet patiently waiting for Hurricane Irma to hit my state; the words you chose to share brought tears of relief to my heart. Thank you for sharing and through God your timing was perfect.
I know he wants me to find rest and peace in him and so; I will. It is fascinating how his timing is so perfect and even more amazing is His method of getting the message to us. So, thank you for acting upon the thought he placed in your heart. I needed to read and understand it.
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
Thank you Laura and all who post here.
I love having this to read and receive encouragement, and to be reminded of Gods word.
I'm sharing a daily devotional that I continue to go back and read. It continues to give me strength, reminding me that God is there and that I need to press on and push through, in His time.....
Come to Me For Rest and Refreshment. The journey has been to much for you, and you are bone-weary. Do not be ashamed of your exhaustion. Instead, see it as an opportunity for Me to take charge of your life.
Remember that I can fit everything into a pattern for good, including the things you wish were different. Start with where you are at this point in time and space, accepting that this is where I intended you to be. You will get through today one step, one moment at a time. Your main responsibility is to remain attentive to Me. Letting Me guide you through the many choices along your pathway.
This sounds like an easy assignment, but it is not. Your desire to live in My presence goes against the grain of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Much of your weariness results from your constant battle against these opponents. However, you are on the path of My choosing, so do not give up!!! Hope in Me, for you will again praise Me for the help of My presence.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, and to those who are the called according to His purpose. ...
Psalm 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young, pg. 40
Thank you for leading us to scripture on how to beat fear. The more I read and understand scripture; the more I realize the power and strength of his Holy word.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10
Casting....how to beat fear
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18
Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you.” Proverbs 22:10 says, “Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave.” Ecclesiastes 11:1 says, “Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.” Ezekiel tells us to cast away our transgressions (Ezekiel 18:31). Jesus told us to cast out our nets for a catch (John 21:6); Paul told us to cast out the works of darkness (Romans 13:12); and Peter told us to cast all our care on Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
The apostle John, who was, after all, a fisherman, added a special word in 1 John 4:18. We should remember how much God loves us, he said, and that love will cast fear from our hearts. “Perfect love casts out fear.”
In His Love
I know how you feel. So many times I have found peace and comfort in reading and listening to scripture. It seems as if no matter how many times I hear it, I get a new message from it. Just when I think I have certain verses figured out....I listen again and hear something new from the same verse. (All in God's perfect timing.)
It makes me smile to know this is helping members of our community. But more importantly, I give thanks to God for leading me to do it.
In Christ Love,
Thank you for sharing that insightful information. It seems that no matter how many times I read the same verse; each time I get a new more profound message from it. Some days when I read scripture it is as if our Lord is speaking directly to my soul and I can feel his presence. Thank you again for sharing the additional verses as well as the new message regarding oxen.
In Christ Love,
Regarding your post on Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Awhile back I searched yoking oxen. I wanted to see if I could get a deeper understanding of what Jesus was saying concerning His yoke.
One thing I found out is that 2 oxen that have spent a lot of time yoked together will not usually separate by choice. Where one is, the other is usually nearby.
I thought that was really interesting, given that Jesus said for us to take His yoke on us and learn of Him. The more we do that, the more likely we are to want to stay close to Him, I think.
Thanks to you and everyone else for the great, encouraging verses.
These scriptures say it all, they are golden nuggets for us to hold on to.

GOD has intervene on my behalf, to lead me to all of you dear people!
I am so thankful and will always be humbly grateful.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!THANK YOU!

Good morning my brothers and sisters in Christ,
I wanted to remind you of how much you are loved n regardless of how bad you feel continue to have faith and trust in God. You will get through today and conquer this toxic disease. I was reminded by my pastor no matter what is thrown upon us it's all about how we handle it. I feel that everything happens for a reason and me having this disease has change my life forever for the better. Wanted to leave this inspiring message for you starting out a positive week . God bless you and your family.
Let's get this week going right. In spite of how things look sometimes, you gotta rise up in faith and just keep putting one foot in front of the other and not back down! If you can't run, walk...if you can't walk, crawl...if you can't do anything but stand, then stand! But keep going! Declare it today and this week...
"I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. Psalms 16:8...My eyes will see the goodness of the Lord. (Psalms 27.13)
I will be strong. I will stand in faith even when I'm having the hardest time of my life. ALL the forces of darkness cannot stop what God has ordained for me! God is arranging things in my favor, making a way even when I don't see it yet with my physical eyes! Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate me from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus my Lord! (Romans 8:39) My God is able to provide me with every blessing in abundance. (2 Corinthians 9.8)
I am complete in Christ. There’s nothing missing or lacking in my life because Christ is my completeness. God is removing limitations from my life. The unthinkable, unimaginable and humanly impossible will happen for me! I have been marked for favor. I am a victor! It’s not because of who I am...it’s because of Whose I am! And in all things I AM More! More Than...More Than...A Conqueror!!!
On behalf of Mel, John, and everyone in this community, I want to send you God's love and lift you up. Everyone here sees that you always take time to extend fellowship and encouragement to others. This makes you so very special to this community and to the Lord.
Be fully assured that this thread that you created is giving strength and hope in the truth of God's infinite love for us all. You are a warrior and a blessing.
And you are winning! So "stay the course."
Blessings and Love,
When you say: I can’t do it....God says:....You can do all things....Philippians 4:13 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
When you say: It’s not worth it....God says:....It will be worth it....Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me.
Jesus spoke these words trying to comfort those closest to him as all knew His end was near. Jesus spoke of preparing a place and receiving his disciples unto himself again. He said, "And where I go you will know and you will know the way."
I would like to encourage anyone reading this not to lose your way. My earthly father shared this message with me on his last day on earth. Before I went to work June 30th, 2002 his last words to me were John 14: 26 and 27: "26. But the comforter which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance, whatsoever I have said to you.
27. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. "
Luke 12:24 "Take heed, and beware of covetnousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
Luke 14:11 "For whosoever axalts himself will be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."
So I have been guilty of fear, greed, and pride. But Jesus reassured his apostles and all of us that forgiveness has been bought and already paid for. All we, I need to do is repent, turn from my ways, and accept this free gift that no man could ever earn . No man can enter into the kingdom of heaven by works least he boast. This is exactly why a proud man cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven. He is too proud to submit to the Father and creator. He cannot/ will not kneel. This is the single most humble act a person can pose.
So in closing I would like to say , "Choose Not to be afraid. Lean not unto your own understanding instead enter into The Father's rest. Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, body and soul. He Will deliver you. Only believe. "
"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:32
As I read this verse it occurred to me; God did not spare me from this disease so that I might live. However, I must live as the new person who loves her Savior and accepts him into her "New" life. For once I was lost but now I am found. Thank you GOD!
When you say; I can’t figure it out....God says....I will direct you. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
When you say; I am too tired....God says....I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Thank you for taking the time to get those verses together that are like the one in Matthew. I especially love “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.
Here are a couple more verses to add to the encouraging verses that have already been posted.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting rock.
Amen! God is our way our truth and our light that guides us through the darkest of days. If we truly pull together with all peace and understanding there's nothing we can't overcome through pray. Aunt Laura love that this thread was place from your heart. I couldnt agree with Peter and Christie more. You've been such a true friend and I appreciate you more than you know. This thread made my day. So glad it was brought to light.
Thank you Laura,
Every time I have felt like I just couldn't cope with morgellons anymore I have prayed and prayed for days and indeed God does help. The last twice I was feeling really bad and prayed I felt God's love and warmth around me and I knew I was being soothed and I knew I wasn't alone in it. And I knew that I was being heard:-)
Thank You all for adding ideas and scripture to this thread! We all need a Go To place when we feel desperate from this disease. The verse from Matthew that Cheryl posted is noted in many places throughout the bible.
"And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." Luke 18:27
“With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
This is the TRUTH! Have FAITH! We will conquer this with GOD!!
In Christ Love,
Thank you Laura! Phillippians & 2 Corinthians were just in my daily devotions in the past week. Lead to your post this morning to read them again is a reminder where to keep my mind and not to let it wonder. I need to be in constant contact :) with God's word and not with my "why and what if" thoughts. Blessings to you!!
Thank you Laura for sharing the wisdom God had bestowed upon you! I have at least one of these thoughts every day, and it is so nice to remember that God has a positive answer for each and every one of them!
Thank you for those encouraging verses and truths from God's word.
Here is another great verse.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Thank you for bringing the beauty and the light. And for inspiring us to look up, and then ahead.
You are a blessing and a role model!
