Hello Karen and Laura

When Craig sent me this, I saw that it made me mindful that we actually "visualize fear." We run a movie in our head that scripts the fear into mental imagery with an imaginary premonition. There is no truth in this.

I have learned how to re-write the script and change the screenplay in my thoughts. That's the power in "free will." Refuse to "visualize fear." Make this a best practice. Instead, draw on free will, and let visual mastery ripple into your hearts and minds as you develop the ability to master fear and worry.

You both are a blessing! Stay the course.

Hi Peter and Laura,

I wanted to chime in on this one because I've been very close friends with worry over the years. I read something recently that's really helped me. Can't remember where I read it, but I've tried this and have had positive results.

The premise is that if you find yourself in a full blown worry fest it's very hard to turn it around to its polar opposite of positivity at that time. The suggestion was to not try to do this but to just find a way to shut down...just to go back to dead center...back to neutral and just try to think of nothing...get relaxed. Many people meditate to do this...but I've found that if I'm in a place of anxious worry, that's also hard to do.

One suggestion was music...and...depending on what you're listening to, that can be helpful. The thing that's helped me the most is meditation music. You can find all kinds of meditation / relaxation music on Youtube...totally free. My favorites are the ones that have bi-neural beats...just do a search on Youtube with those words and all kinds of stuff will pop up. That type of music can help shut down the worry loop. Once that gets shut down, then it's so much easier to work on going into a positive direction...like you said Peter..."...create an image of the outcome they would rather have."

Peter,
Thank you for the "Summary" on worry. I find it important to understand our fears are legitimate but do not necessarily mirror reality. I did a little research on "fear" and wanted to share these with the community.

“Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”: FDR’s First Inaugural Address.

Matthew 14:27
But Jesus immediately said to them, “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
The promise: Jesus gives us courage. Our courage to face fear doesn’t come from inside of ourselves; it is something we have access to because of Jesus’ presence in our lives.

I am beginning to realize the importance of overcoming fear and spending more time on looking to a positive future. A future where I am holding my beautiful grandchildren and hugging my amazing children. (ALL BLESSINGS from GOD our Father; AMEN!)

In Christ Love,
Laura
