I am moved by Craig's post. If we all just pulled the trigger on a small donation, Mel would have the resources to survive his current shortfalls. I will do my part tomorrow and make a small donation tomorrow.
Like Mel, and because of Mel, I have also never accepted money for serving this community. Outside of funding for desperately sick people, Mel does not care to ask of others. He does this work only to serve the Lord, to relieve suffering, and to revel in the joy of seeing people get well. I share the nobility in his nature, and I am honored to do so.
What most people don't see is the deep emotional, spiritual and physical toll that accompany helping people with chronic disease. I am all to familiar with this, and trust me, it is overwhelming!
Mel, and a few others of us who give everything we have to this place of healing need each of you to do your part. Give a little something. Then, rest in the assurance that you have God's approval and that he will bless you for it.
Let your heart lead you. I know you will give.
