Just wanted to chime in on breakfast ideas
- first - I think Mel is adding some new stuff to the food and articles section - and I am submitting a chart that has a huge list of alkaline foods - some ideas for breakfast - which might be a nice resource to what folks already have. And also - I think the recipes are updated every three months so be sure to share some and to check back often! ;)

Second - even tho you do not like eggs -maybe u can give them another try -and make them in new ways? And maybe organic eggs will taste better than what u were used to - or as u heal maybe your body will like them more -or not -
But I sometimes add one egg to my soup (and yes - I sometimes have soup for breakfast) or I make "dirty rice" - which is brown rice and eggs and lots of veggies and salt - and it does not taste like eggs at all - but has the egg protein and I often add a dash of raw cheese - all so good.

Third - Peter mentioned shakes - and I agree - whey protein isolate is so satisfying -and the logos vanilla one is activated and so delicious - so you use less and get more absorption.
but I also love trader joes hemp protein (nicely priced) and their vanilla soy is still a staple for all at our house - which can be mixed with water and tastes great - I also would add in ground flax and tablespoon of lecithin -

Fourth - trader joes has a brown rice bread.
I heard about this bread from Peter in a conference call - and it is a good bread if u really are used to having toast - it helped me wean from bread- it takes forever to toast - but it's heart for breakfast with maybe a few pieces of white meat-

Fifth - trader joes organic grits(non gmo) - I used to make a batch and then reheat some each morning - sounds plain - but their grits are unique - they take a half hour to make and u add salt and real butter - the grits are hearty and delicious as a meal. love Their grits!

Sixth - kefir - or plain yogurt - and cottage cheese with the morning supplements is good too -
Hope that helps -
Have a nice day ;)

Hi Martha

As I have learned more, my diet has changed. I no longer eat cereal. My breakfast now consists mainly of whey protein (a Renaissance shake) together with an avocado and some almonds with fermented food. I will also include a small serving of a low glycemic fruit like blueberries, grapefruit, or strawberries, and, of course, lots of water.

My body is least insulin sensitive during the morning. Insulin is necessary to carbohydrate assimilation, so a traditional breakfast of oatmeal or cereal is not good for me. Since my body is most insulin sensitive in the afternoon, this is when I introduce oatmeal, rice, and specific grains like spelt, buckwheat, millet and Amaranth (the so called ancient grains.) Any cereal that is organic and includes these grains is a good choice. I would consider Natures Path as one example of cereals with these grains.

I believe it is important to understand that individual body types are an important consideration when looking at diet. Then, based on body type, I not only look at what foods to eat, but when during the day one should eat them. One must also consider age.

For example, I am 62 years old. This means that I do not produce digestive enzymes at anywhere near the level I did when I was younger. Cooking foods destroys these digestive enzymes. That means that at my age, these necessary enzymes are much more available to me if I avoid cooked foods in favor of eating raw and fresh. So, I do better when the bulk of my diet consists of raw vegetables, because the enzymes remain intact. This is also why the essential enzymes are such an integral part of Mel’s protocol.

Lastly, although I consider eggs “natures multi vitamin” food, perhaps salmon would be a good substitute. Hope this post helps you. I would suggest that there is much that could value you in reading the articles that can be found in the articles section here and on John’s web site. There is so much power in understanding their content!

Godspeed,
Peter

Hello. I need breakfast ideas. I can not eat eggs. I have disliked them all of my life. Peter, what is the name if your cereal? I have looked for here in Virginia and on Amazon but have had no luck. I have been eating organic oatmeal with walnuts ( and no blueberries like I used to). I want to be 100% compliant. Thank you!
