Martina 10/10/2010 9:23:41 AM | I have been suffering for 2 years with synptoms simular to Morgellons but my doctor things it's Neuroliga (nerve related sice I have Cerebral Palsy)It stared 2 years ago with a crawling sensation on my face which I blamed as a allergic reation to a new brand of make-up.I could only feel it on one side to start with. So my GP put me on medication to control nerve pain. This continued for a year then I started getting a stinging and throbbing under my arms. So I was sent to a neurologist for an MRI to rule out anything serious. It was normal. Then my hair started getting very dry and itchy, so I got medicated shampoo which hasn't helped. Recently my vision has been effected (I only have sight in one eye) I see coulored specs on my eyelashs when I'm outside or its sunny I also see black floaters when I go outside, but the eye doc found nothing wrong. The crawling sensation is now on my hands. I have no lesions though. I do have Irritable Bowel Syndrome also. I gave my GP the name of this disease but he/she only glanced at it. So right now I'm getting pretty fed up and beginning to think this is all in my head. Noone seems to be giving me answers. I'm 22 and from Northern Ireland. |

ps 10/14/2010 3:58:29 AM | Martina, I'm not surprised by the response of your GP. Morgellons is not yet a diagnosis, thought I hope that changes soon. Most if not all of us have figured out for ourselves we have Morgellons. Skin lesions are the most common symptom along with fibers and the little rice like spheres. The tiny spheres are most often found on scalp and upper torso. Not having some of these symptoms does not rule out Morgellons but makes it is more difficult to determine if you have Morgellons. This website has a wealth of information on Morgellons, what Mel did to recover, and what others are doing to recover from Morgellons by looking to Mel's experience. Please read the pages 'Home', 'My Morgellons Story', and 'Mel's History' to get a better understanding of this site. The 'Testimonials' page is new and the 'Search' page can help you find things easily. You are fortunate that your MRI was normal, not everyone with Morgellons has a normal MRI. Your doctors look like like they are keeping careful watch of you. I have a couple of autoimmune diseases that require constant monitoring. My experience, having a good working relationship with your GP and specialist treating you can be invaluable. Last, I look up all my diseases and medications so I can take an active role in the treatment of my diseases. I find by doing so I can discuss symptoms and medications so my doctors can better prescribe and adjust doses for maximum efficacy with minimal side effects. Being the curious type I did look up some of the drugs typically used for Cerebral Palsy. I recognized one that I have taken for neuropathic pain related to shingles. One of the side effects is itching. I would talk to your doctor if I were you to try to find out what the cause of your itching and crawling sensations is. Good luck, never stop learning, and Never Give Up Hope PS |
