Gina, you might try sleeping on one of those lounge chairs (those used around pools) if you have room so that you won't infect your mattress. (not the nylon ones with loose webbing but the ones that are wrapped with a tubular thick plastic nylon.) If one type does not work, take it back and try another) Then if you wanted you could cover it with a big plastic yard bag (costo sells some pretty big bags) Then use a sheet on top so that you won't be sticking to the plastic. I only use one sheet, folded in half, one half is the bottom the other the top, that saves on laundry but of course I an only 5' so I can fold it in half the short way and have plenty for both top and bottom.

I actually sleep on my backswing which resembles one of those lounge chairs but it is 3 feet off the ground and has a real thick plastic, rubberized webbing. I happened to have a real big nylon rubberized bag that I put over it because I found them sticking to the webbing and so far they have not attached to the covering, I just shake it outside every morning. And like I said, I use a sheet over it.

Don't know where you live but I'm in northern Ca. I sleep in a warm room and by doing that I can get away with using a thick beach towel rather than blankets. Makes for easier washing<) They make the beach towels pretty big now 40'X72' Also wonder if using an electric blanket would keep them away??? That idea just popped into my mind. Let me know if your steam cleaning idea works? I know this is morg is a handful and more so when you have kids so I hope we can help in anyway. Linda
