In the summer I don't normally use anything for bug repellent, theres a few natural products at the healthfood store they stink horribly though.
Neem lotion and neem in general rocks. It can help viral, fungal, and bacterial infections in plants and was one of the products we recommended using when working at a nursery for sick tomatoes.
It works great on people apparently too. Theraneem is a lotion we have in the states also they make soap and toothpaste. I have also seen neem oil I'm guessing it probably could be used like essential oils but I'm not sure I haven't worked with it personally.
Anything you apply to your body gets absorbed into you bloodstream within 15 seconds so basically try to stay far away from chemical junk if you can. Its hard to do but your body will thank you.
