GSE ear drops are very effective for alleviating fungal ear infections, but will probably not impact the ear wax issue.
There are a number of effective OTC ear wax cleaning kits available. Be careful not to push the wax down into the ear canal with Q-tips, etc.
I don't recommend ear candles - especially with children - as serious accidents have occurred using them.
