Laurie 7/2/2010 11:33:21 PM MST | I agree!! Not ONLY for Medicare, but for MEDICAID, as well! I, unfortunately, due to the economy, as my husband lost his job, and I, being disabled, cannot work. 'I' have MEDICAID. 'I' had a doctor TELL ME 'You are NOT WORTH MY TIME FOR ME TO 'ONLY' GET PAID $20 to figure out what is wrong with you'. (I have a mysterious skin disease that NO doctor can figure out what it is.) Imagine HOW I felt?! I wanted to hit the man!!! What, am I trash???????? Medicare/Medicaid - it worries me abbout Universal Healthcare Coverage. Is EVERYONE who might elect to use the Universal Healthcare coverage be treated the SAME WAY THOSE OF US ON MEDICARE/MEDICAID are treated now? It is WRONG!!!! DOCTORS, SHAPE UP!!!!! You ALL make enough money fom ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WITH 'PRIVATE' INSURANCE. THOSE PEOPLE sometimes have to REMORTGAGE THEIR HOMES TO PAY THEIR CO-PAYS TO YOU!!!! So, either way you look at this WHOLE SITUATION - NOTHING IS FAIR NOR RIGHT! You so-called doctor's are just downright GREEDY! Welcome to the 'REAL WORLD' OF LIFE WE ALL LIVE! NO, YOU ARE 'NOT' GOD'S IN YOUR FIELDS! You Personally, until I find 'one' doctor who REALLY CARES, AND DID NOT GO INTO THE FIELD FOR 'MONEY PURPOSES', I GIVE 'NO' CREDENCE TO YOU PEOPLE. I have read articles where doctors explain how they often make minimum wage -- or less -- when treating Medicare patients, due to the unfairly low reimbursement from Medicare. These doctors simply can't afford to treat Medicare patients, so are being forced to drop them. When you look at all the places the government is wasting billions of dollars, there is no excuse for not making fair Medicare payments to doctors a priority. |
