Mel 2/18/2013 1:22:40 PM | Hello Everyone, Those of you who attended our Conference Call last night (it was AWESOME by the way - make sure you listen to it in the Conference Call archives later this week) know that I am currently nursing a cold. Some of my closest companions here have expressed concern that I am overburdened. They are worried that my work load is contributing to not only my cold symptoms, but my increased lack of patience. I believe God's word says there is wisdom in seeking counsel from a variety of sources. There is even more wisdom in heeding it - especially when those who love you the most are all telling you the same thing. When God mapped out my hard drive, he programmed me to be very passionate and driven. We all have strengths and weaknesses, and sometimes our strengths can be our greatest weakness. This past week has been a real wake up call for me. I have learned some valuable lessons, and I am going to take a few days off in order to contemplate on them while recuperating from my cold. While I am confident that all who know me don't question where my heart is, I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to any of you whom I may have offended. Tough love comes naturally to me, and on the whole, that is a good thing. Patience comes less naturally, but I am learning. Interestingly, I came across a great song this week that seems very appropriate to the moment. It speaks to the importance of loving people where they are and placing the value of relationships above agendas, no matter how noble they may be. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. So long for a few days. God Bless; Never give up Hope! Mel |

John Burgstiner 2/18/2013 2:34:02 PM | Someone wise once told me that we are only as powerful as our dependence on God's strength. HE gives us all weaknesses to keep us humble and remind us of our dependence on HIM. He gives us each unique gifts that HE delights in weaving together into a beautiful tapestry. Thanks Mel for your willingness to be real. Enjoy your well earned vacation! Love you Brother. 'But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.' (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV) |
