Thank you for this brave and beautiful post. I read it together with my partner, as so many of us are struggling with similar issues.
Also, my partner and I have put off marriage for years, due to my illness and wanting things to be 'perfect' first. Your description of the courthouse ceremony touched us both deeply...your day couldn't have been more perfect! It gave me such peace, and erased the regret I've felt for not having had the 'dream' scenario...
