Hi Mark,

How are you and your little boy doing? I hope you are improving. I thank you again for your supportive posts.

My daughter and I have been on the full protocol for coming up on two weeks now and I'm stunned at how much better we feel already. We've been on the diet much longer since we thought we had MRSA originally and the approach is basically the same. While that has helped, there is still so much to learn. We are becoming more strict now that we know more and I'm learning more about what we can and can't eat every day.

Thanks for the detailed info on the 'how to feed your kids' problem! You're so right . . . this isn't easy but it sounds like you two are coming up with some great alternatives. Your post confirms what I've been discovering in all my reading and adds some new ideas too. It's great to hear what other parents are doing.

We found the stevia sweetened sodas and have been using them up until recently, but with all the warnings against sodas of any kind on this site we backed off a bit thinking there might be other issues besides sugar. Sounds like you have been using them with no problems. Good to know.

I am using stevia exclusively in what I make at home for her. Isn't it great to have a sugar alternative that also balances blood sugar and increases alkalinity? Stevia Lemonade is a basic for us now. I make yogurt-stevia smoothies using small amounts of frozen strawberries and plain yogurt. Sometimes I freeze the smoothies in a counter-top ice-cream maker for frozen yogurt. She loves it and it helps a lot. Currently berries are the only fruit I allow her since they are so low in sugar compared to other fruits.

How much fruit if any are other parents allowing for kids? We've found we have to be very conservative but we do allow a few berries each day. I don't use any for myself. We do use carrots for her but I saw that some people don't.

I am using Coconut Oil as you suggested. It is really helping and she loves the flavor which makes the transition easier. I just got some coconut flour to experiment with as well.

I haven't yet found the stevia cookies you mentioned yet, or candy bars but will be keeping my eyes open for them.

Maybe a thread just to share ideas for kids might be helpful in the future? Looking forward to the conference call. Thanks again,

Deborah
