10/2/2013 10:01:56 AM | Hello Everyone and Welcome. It is in the wee hours of the morning on the West coast, and I have been up for a while as I can only sleep a few hours before the pain in my shoulder and side wakes me up. Yesterday I visited with Dr. Zamboni and learned that although we've made progress related to my concussion symptoms, we have become more aware of the other injuries involved. It appears that there was much more damage to my right shoulder than was previously thought, so I am being sent to a specialist. It also appears that the compound fractures to my rib cage may have partially punctured my lung. I'm going to stop here, for as you know, we don't allow horror stories on this website. I ask all of you to be patient with me and allow me the time and space to heal properly. Especially now, I am so thankful that God has placed those in our midst who have volunteered to share their time and energy to give back to others by sharing their hard earned knowledge and experience as counselors. If you have been assigned a counselor, please direct your questions to them or to each other on the forum... that is what it is here for. I would once again ask those who have gotten well from the information and support available here to make a one time donation to help others who are at the place you once were. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to those of you who have already done so. May God bless you with the restoration that was given to me by our Lord. Two days before my car accident, I felt like a forty year old man again. I have been thinking about the reasons why God has allowed me to experience all the things He has in my life - including this latest setback. All I can say is I have never been more cognizant of my absolute dependency on the Lord for all things. I know He is shaping and molding me for His purposes, and I am thirsty to know and understand Him better every day. I look forward to the day when I will once again be pain free, and I pray that the lessons learned will stay with me when the pain fades away. Once again, thank you all for your prayers, your love and your patience. God Bless; Never, Never give up Hope! Mel |
