In the early days of our Morgellons I and my family did use the menthol crystals a number of times with good success. However, we had a known and proven infestation of bird mites. The biting that we experienced was limited to certain infected areas of our house and we had the typical small red bite patterns on our skin that you can view online,(birdmites.org). Mite and other insect infestations do occur for those in the early stages of the disease and the menthol crystals work well when used with caution as you have mentioned and has been said so many times here in this thread.
Using the small tea-light burners works very well for your average size room or your car. For a very large room you might want to use two burners, one at each end of the room. But a little goes a very long way and accomplishes much with this protocol. You don't need a large or specialized burner to have success.
That being said, it is possible to mistake biting sensations that normally accompany Morgellons for insect bites. One way to tell the difference. . . biting sensations that are internal will usually occur wherever you are in your home, occur all over your body and be fairly consistent throughout the day. Insect bites will often be restricted to certain areas of your home or for instance, only in your car or only in one room of your house. Often they are limited to exposed areas of skin, or in the case of mites, usually on your feet and legs only when you are sitting or standing.
I think you know that the menthol will not help much with the fungal aspect of this disease. As you have pointed out, only getting your body clean and healthy and your immune system in top working order will help with that. For fungal and mold residues in our homes the best answer is the enzyme cleaners.
