Hi Jul,

I don't think we've met yet, but wanted to chime in on your question about hair issues. There are a couple of things that have really helped me in my fight with hair purging. It's taken a lot of experimentation, and a few fruitless purchases but I finally found what works for me and thought I'd share it in response to your post.

On the issue of finding a strong mentholated product or rub, I like to make my own from coconut oi and the essential oils of Tea Tree, Clove and Peppermint. I make it pretty strong with Peppermint being the most important. I just melt the coconut oil at a low heat and add my desired drops of oil, then pour it into a clean , covered container to cool for later use. It really works for me and gives me the control over how strong I make it. It really gives you that mentholated tingle that you know is getting to the fungal issues in your scalp!

This approach is cheaper than what you can buy, the coconut oil itself is an anti-fungal, you avoid unhealthy products like petroleum jelly, and again, YOU control the strength. Also. . . added side benefit: your hair will never be shinier and healthier looking than when using coconut oil as a rub overnight. Nice perk. ;-)

One other tip; earlier in this thread and several years ago, Monica mentioned using Apple Cider Vinegar on her hair which has proven invaluable for my family. If you are dealing with the gummy, grayish dandruff often associated with Morgellons, ACV is simply awesome in treating it. I struggled for a year and a half trying to resolve this, and once I started on ACV hair rinses it only took about two weeks until it was completely a thing of the past. And I do mean completely. . .I have no more of this at all after working for so long to try to defeat it. . . Awesome!

I strongly recommend getting a natural, live Apple Cider Vinegar with the brown "mother" fermenting in the bottom of the bottle, but strain any of the "mother" out before using it as a rinse. Bragg's is a good brand and commonly found in most stores. The clear, processed types are not nearly as effective. Fungus HATES Apple Cider Vinegar and that includes fungus infections of the skin and scalp, so do try this remedy for yourself.

I use a squeeze bottle similar to what restaurants serve catchup or mustard in. I keep the dispenser in the shower filled with strained ACV and just apply it carefully after my conditioner. Keep your eyes covered with a cloth to protect from any dribbles.

Once you have thoroughly covered your scalp, just dry off. . . do not rinse it out! Do rinse off any that has gotten on your face, shoulders, etc. though, as it can sting. Leaving it on is far more affective than soaking your head in it or rinsing it out after a few minutes. It is stinky but once hair is dry you can't smell it at all. For my daughter I use it diluted by half with water and for myself, full strength. We've had no issues or skin irritation. If your skin is sensitive you should dilute it a bit more before trying a stronger solution. If you have lesions on your scalp, better to wait until those are healed up to try the ACV because it will sting broken skin.

But this simple remedy while not a cure in and of itself for the dandruff and fungal hairs, is an amazing solution that speeds the healing process from my experience. I say it is not a cure because we all know that the full protocol and an extremely strict diet is the only thing that will cure any of the underlying MD issues and symptoms. However, ACV will make life much more pleasant for most people while they heal.

I hope all this helps, Jul, and best of success as you beat back this infection and take your life back,

Deborah B.
