Heya Susan,
what I really believed helped me with getting rid of the itching so fast and the biting was alkalizing my system and staying away from anything holding even the slightest bit of sugar and anything too starchy. I wouldn't eat mostly chicken, for it does not help alkalize your system, it can help with acedity. Chicken once in a while is okay, but not for most of your diet. (the same goes for hamburger meat) Remember, you need everything in moderation. Raw vegetables and juicing is your friend, however I believe granny smith apples have a decent amount of sugar in them and wouldn't eat them while in the early stages of your journey. That's just my opinion, but everyone is different.
If you;re eating fish I would make sure it is wild caught and fresh, also make sure it is a fish low in mercury. I would make lemons and limes your partners in fighting this, they sure helps alkalize the system.
Everything else you're doing does sound splendid, be careful with the chocolate zucchini bread. Chocolate is not usually helpful in the early stages of this, and I've found that I am intolerant of zucchini and any type of squash, this may or may not be the case for you. Stevia and xylitol are pretty awesome. Manuka honey has a decent amount of natural sugar in it, I tend to stay away from that as well but other people seemed to have been okay with manuka honey.
I'm just so strict, even with natural sugar and staying alkaline because I really want to give this all I've got and give this evil monster a critical hit in all directions! However, find what you're tolerant and intolerant of. I did an elimination diet the first few weeks, you can find out more about that in our forums and online as well.
Good luck. Remember, this M thing goes in cycles, so there will be times you feel like there's more of it and there will be times you will feel symptom free. It gets worse before it gets better. Just be glad that all of them are trying to get out out out and away from you when they are leaving your body! It's a good sign for them to be leaving, don't be afraid. Know that you're healing and WINNING@
Much love!
