4/30/2010 11:51:57 AM | Good Morning Ladies, First let me make it clear that I am not a medical doctor... just someone with a lifelong hunger and thirst for knowledge of how the human body works and how to support its functions naturally. My father, Carson Burgstiner MD was a physician (OB/GYN)and a pioneer of nutritional medicine. It is my great honor and privilege to carry on on with his legacy, the Burgstiner Wellness Protocol, which forms the nutritional component of Mel's protocol. As for the differences between Molecula Silver and Nutrasilver, it depends upon who you ask. According to NutraSilver proponents, it is a suspension of ionized, colloidal silver in distilled water. The suspension is reportedly created through a proprietary process where water is negatively charged and clustered so that the silver is well suspended, and theoretically better absorbed. Personally, I have had no experience with the product. Mel's experience with it was apparently unimpressive. According to A2Z Wellness Products, distributors of Molecula Silver, it is unique among colloidal silver products because its physical properties have been altered so that it performs as a gas or ether in the body, with greatly enhanced absorption properties. As you know, Mel is an advocate of Molecula Silver because of the results he has seen from using it. Although I must admit that I find the scientific explanation offered for the product unsatisfying, it is hard to argue with results. I used it myself to clear up a bronchial infection last year. A word of caution is warranted on the iodine scalp painting suggestion. Iodine is quite readily absorbed through the skin and directly feeds thyroid production. It is normally given in very small doses because when overdosed, it can trigger anxiety, heart palpitations, dangerous arrhythmias and even heart attacks. Iodine is a critically important nutrient that many Americans (and likely most if not all Morgellons sufferers) lack in sufficient levels to promote healthy thyroid function. However, as I said, it must be used in small amounts and with caution. Blessings, John B |
