4/16/2014 2:01:47 PM | Thank you Peter and Karin! Peter, you are such an inspiration to me with your attitude and how relentless you are on fighting this. Sorry for late responses, I've been only trying to post once a week since I know I need to cool it down on my writing. Also, my anxiety has gone down quite a lot! How you ask? Well, thanks to Mel for connecting me to another warrior via phone calls and texting, I can talk to him all day every day and everything seems to much more... freeing and simple. I haven't had interesting in talking to anyone or doing anything and I felt so alone, then Justin came along and talking to him has been cleansing me of most of my anxiety. I learned a little bit of a lesson as well as some advice to you all. I know this is a scary thing we have going on with our bodies here, but talking about it with a fellow warrior or someone who has it reminds us that we are not alone and we are not the only ones suffering. Someone out there understands you, the pain you are going through, and can also tell you what's to come and to not give up hope. Other people have suffered, and they have also gotten better. It helps to talk as much as you can about this and get it all out, to ask as much questions as you can and don't be afraid to ask or look up any questions. Justin has answered all of my rather silly questions no matter what time of day it is, he has sat with me on the phone for hours talking about M, we've talked about life and the future, and he's great for just letting my mind wonder for in depth and wise conversations. Please, if you have anxiety, or if you feel like you don't have support, talking to someone can make you feel the opposite of afraid or anxious. I know Justin is like my ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air. Updates on what I've been doing for myself: Well, as per reading Peter's story, I have tightened up my diet, eating three meals and at the same time every day. Also, since I've been eating like a cow, I read up online about portion sizes and what they should be to help control my over eating of anything since we all know everything is good in moderation. With my meals I usually have tea. I drink red roibos tea twice a day at least, and the other teas I'm rotating are Pau D'arco, Peppermint, Gingeraide, and Every day detox tea. Sometimes I add a chamomile or lemon tea whenever I have it on hand. If I'm not drinking tea I'm usually drinking a glass of water with some lemon juice in it. I added apple cyder vinegar to my daily regimen as well, taking two table spoons into my water in the morning and evening. As well as rotating spices almost every meal. I've been having a lot of sage, garlic, thyme, cayenne pepper, oregano, basil, ginger, etc. I've had to cool it on the baking for a while since I've been gaining too much weight and I just wanted to tighten up the fact that I should have mostly raw low starch veggies for every meal. I've been making my own dressing with tahini, and sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and such. I noticed, since I'm up to 3 drops MMS now, the MMS does give you quite the surge of energy at first. All in one day I road my bike to the natural food store, the pharmacy, and went to the park with my dog. A week before MMS I even pushed myself to go longboarding quite a bit. Exercise and sunshine really do feel great when you're up for it, I believe it helps my anxiety and it's helping my body fight this disease. I lay out on my back deck whenever it's warm enough to get sun on my face. I've had a decent amount of lesions on my face now, not deep or anything, but my face is awfully red and swollen, dried out and hurts a bit. It looks like I have a lot of acne with my lesions and pimples. My glands are also swollen. This doesn't alarm me too much since I feel like this is my body trying to push out the bad ickies that aren't supposed to be in there. Still using a tea tree triple threat shampoo in the shower. It has peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, and a bunch of other great essential oils already in it to help me fight this. Then I usually wash with MSM soap that has aloe vera in it in my hair, and also use kleen green in my hair and on my body. Kleen green has been helping my itching, and it also helps the lesions on my face quite a bit. Slowly but surely. Also, I was so uncomfortable without taking baths since baths are my comfort and relaxation zone. I missed it so much, and kleen green baths were too expensive. Justin had me really excited when he mentioned Epson salt baths and I take one every other night. Not only does it make you feel clean, but it sure does help beat those sore muscles and aches in your body as well as relax. I like to let my MSM soap sit in my hair while I sit in the epson salt bath as well. Still using 50/50 coconut oil and olive oil on my skin, mixed in with tea tree, clove, and eucalyptus. Some days I'll switch it up to lavender and peppermint when I go out like once a week to smell good for once instead of like tea tree oil. I let this sit on my body and hair overnight usually. I've noticed I'm intolerant to zucchini, any kind of squash and anything near starchy. So I've been sticking to low starch veggies. Still eating eggs for breakfast, getting used to the eggs though I've gained a good 30 pounds since I found out I had M and started on this diet. In my case this is a good thing, gaining weight and fat coming out of bulimia means that my body is going to be using all of the food and nutrients that it can to heal itself. As Justin always reminds me (since I complain about my weight a lot) "food is healing." I've been cleaning with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap, which smells wonderful. I have yet to gain a lot of energy to go through all of my clothes still in bags, decide which ones I want to keep and which ones I want to give away in a garage sale along with shoes and a lot of my belongings. I'm going to have a big garage sale and that's going to hopefully help me pay for my next month's protocol. Month by month I've been scavenging until I know I'm better to work. I've been already feeling so much better energy wise. I use my routine to fall back on daily. My laundry, showers, between meals cleaning and stretching, and making meals. It does take up my whole day and I have to sit down a lot. But I'm getting used to the routine and it's nice to take comfort in it. Always keeping me busy. If I ever have an emotional bout since I've been crying a lot lately, or insanely happy and energetic, I use both to my advantage. My fear of this disease I use as a drive to get better. I let fear chase me and put me into place to strive to get better and do the best that I can every day. Happiness drives me in the way it drives every body, you're at your best when you're happiest. I'm slowly on a journey to learn how to love myself, appreciate life, and take things day by day instead of looking too far into the future. And forgetting about vanity for now. Letting go, and pressing forward. Relentless, diligent, and a warrior. Stay in the fight, don't ever give up, and don't ever hold back. The wait is worth it, and we'll be ten times stronger than anyone who hasn't had this disease could imagine. If you get better from this, with all of the challenges and scares this gives you as well as learning the most disciplined regimen to live your life by to heal from this, well, you can conquer anything life throws at you after this no problem. Everything else will be a piece of cake compared to this battle. At least, that's how I feel. That's all for now. |
