I pray that you will find a way to get out of there, the sooner the better, because among other things, chronic mold spore exposure creates a tremendous drag on the immune system. People who underestimate the devastating effects of chronic mold exposure do so at their own risk.
I'm sorry to be so blunt about this, but this is one case where ignorance is definitely not bliss. Bottom line, a mold infested house is a death trap.
Period.
With proper remediation, a house can be made safe again, but band aid approaches do not work.
Taking control of your environment to prevent cycles of reinfection is a critical part of the long term success of Mel's protocol, and in some cases that means making some very tough decisions.
I will be praying for provision, protection and wisdom for you in dealing with your family in this situation.
