Hi Lisa,

Sorry to be negative, but living in a mold infested environment is a no win situation that can only get worse (and much worse) if proper mold remediation procedures are not followed. Clearing a home of mold toxicity can be done, but it is an expensive proposition.

The problem is not the mold spores themselves, but the mycotoxins that they produce, which overtax the body's immune and detox systems and disrupt hormonal regulation. Mycotoxins are xenoestrogens that promote inflammation and greatly increase the incidence and severity of allergic responses and opportunistic infections.

If you really do have a bad mold invasion, your options are to hire a mold remediation expert to locate the source(s) of your problem and fix it right or move to a new location. Staying there without an intervention will only prolong and worsen your suffering.

I am facing the same dilemma as we recently had a roof leak, and for the first time ever I have begun to experience some food allergies. I am in the process now of evaluating the severity of our problem, testing for mold, etc., and we may have to move as well.

I agree with your husband's position; for now you need to stay away from that house! Meanwhile, know that your family is in our prayers. Please keep us posted on your plans and progress.

Blessings,

John
