Hi Ellen and Lisa,

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. Lisa, congratulations on the up-coming marriage of your daughter! You have something wonderful to look forward to and a very motivating goal for healing. Let us know how things go for your husband.

Ellen, Thank you also for the encouraging words. Posting the positive results as we recover is therapeutic so the gratitude for the chance to do so is all on my side. I am so glad to know it helps though.

In reference to symptoms I've dealt with, I find myself hesitant to post about symptoms. Folks like Peter and Monica are a better resource than I am, with their expertise and many months on the protocol. I also know my experience has not been typical. I have had a much easier time than many have and I don't want to give the impression that my case is the norm. I also have a lot to learn and a lot to face yet. But I'll try to give you an idea of what we've faced without sharing any 'horror stories' ;-). Here goes:

My daughter first showed signs in March that something was wrong. It started with strange lesions that appeared as bug bites but then never healed. Later they spread all over her body and included the typical fibers. She had dark bruising that would appear for no reason and in perfect symmetrical circles (unlike any 'normal' bruising I've seen!). She had fungal infections on her feat, scalp lesions and fungal like skin infections behind her ears. She started to complain of her heart hurting when she ran and her face would become bright red for no apparent reason. She would become over-heated with only a small amount of exercise. She had acne on her once perfect little seven-year old complexion. She had fungal ear infections that antibiotics had absolutely no effect against. Bugs were in love with her and she was constantly being bitten. She developed attention deficit symptoms and had a hard time focusing on school work. She was showing signs of emerging dyslexia.

I was luckier than Carrie, as I said. I developed the typical lesions with fibers, bruising, some brain fog, I was emotional and touchy in ways not normal to my personality and I struggled with extreme sleeplessness. I had the typical 'puff ball' experiences in my home and in my hair! I also experienced heart palpitations and yep. . . the bugs were in love with me too! ;-)

Carrie and I started on the protocol minus the Bactrim, in early August. I added MMS for myself a two-week break and at slowly increased doses according to the guidelines. I am at thirteen drops right now.

Currently I have none of the above symptoms except occasional battles with bruising and scalp purging, and some significant sleeplessness. These come and go in cycles, usually lasting a few weeks at a time and then disappearing for a while. They are a reminder to me that I still have the underlying infection that must be battled, even though I am so much better. The bruising and scalp purging are gentle reminders to stay focused.

My daughter is doing much better as well which is the greatest blessing of all. She still has the occasional lesion but no fibers with them. They appear quickly and heal quickly, unlike before. I see them as evidence of purging which is always a good thing. She has some fungal issues with her feet and scalp but only occasionally. No ear infections but she does still have some acne. She can dance, run, play and ride her bike like any normal seven year old. No shortness of breath, no heart pain, or bright red cheeks! She is just a happy normal little girl who is again reading three grade levels ahead and whizzing through her lessons with an absolute love of learning. We are thrilled with her progress and expect to see a steady improvement over the next year.

In spite of all the good there is to report, I still fall prey to fears too. It is only human with all that we are facing with this disease. So stay strong, be kind to yourselves and keep fighting. I hope you both keep posting and let us all know how you are doing. Months from now your stories may be encouraging others who are just getting started!

God's best blessings to you both,

Deborah
