Hi Lisa,

I too lost a lot of weight in the beginning so I had to find foods that are more caloric to add in. In my last post I mentioned that it matters that you find foods that you like or it is too difficult to stay on this plan. I make guacamole and found some chips made with lentils, flax and beans. I also add avacado to my salads, use olive oil at lot (or coconut oil) and if I'm eating a lot of vegetables, I like to have some carbs to balance that, maybe a flourless piece of bread or brown rice or other grain like quinoa. Ezekiel brand makes products like english muffins that taste really great, and if you like almond butter, that has a lot of calories. I found a brand that has no sugar or anything else added.
At first it took me a long time to shop but now I know where to find these items so shopping is pretty quick. It helps that 90% of the items in the typical grocery store are off limits to me!

I work, so some weeks I do a lot of cooking on the weekend and freeze things to have mid-week.

For my birthday, my daughter made me a chocolate cake with coconut flour (Mel gave me permission to eat some!).

There are a lot of great recipes on the Candida diet websites. www.thecandidadiet.com/recipes
is one to try. I try not to get bored with the foods I have but it's not easy.

And give yourself a break - we have a lot on our plates, and shopping, cooking and cleaning can be exhausting. Do the best you can and ask for support from family members so you won't be tempted. I bring healthy foods when I get together with my family so I know I have something I can eat. When I go out to a restaurant, I usually find soups or salads or proteins without sauces and never feel deprived.

I hope this helps, Lisa

Blessings to you in your continued healing,

Ellen
