I'm new here, as well. I'm sorry you and your lovelies are suffering through this but you couldn't have found a better website.
I'm not sure about the birds, but the site does talk about how to help puppies. Listen to one of the past three conference calls, I remember hearing it mentioned. I believe a caller asked on there and Mel answered.
You can also try the search engine. I know it's on there too, just type in "Dog". I remember reading about how a few drops of mms saved a fish.
