Gabby, I have been & still am in your situation. My husband loves me dearly..he knows how very sick I was for the last two years but he has had a difficult time saying the word Morgellons. I would try and show him all the crazy fibers, sand stuff coming out of me, floating in my bath water etc. This just seemed to frighten him because he was an outsider looking in. I decided not to share so much with him & it is working better that way as we still got married. :-)
For me, Morgellons caused SEVERE fatigue & major bouts of depression with crying spells. I found a doctor near Santa Barbara that after viewing the fibers under my skin for a year diagnosed me in writing with Morgellons Syndrome. {This was after three Derms. she sent me to said I was just picking my skin.}. She, (my doctor) is so intellegent that she evaluated my health for over a year and one day she just shooked her head and said..my dear...I think you do have Morgellons but I am not sure exactly how we will approach getting you better but we will work on it together! She is my angel because she took the time to get it right!
Well, since my husband referred me to her he was a bit shocked with her final diagnoses. I still get very angry and I have to pull out the medical form and remind him..I have Morgellons!! Not Lupas, not Lyme, etc!
Gabby, try to remember that convincing loved ones to listen and agree with you may be a waste of time. Getting a doctor to do their job is where you need to spend your time. I am sure there is someone in your city that will help you (I am taking bactim too). I am sending you a great big hug right now! I am willing to help you anyway I can. You can call me or email me night or day! Mel will give you my information if you ask him for it. I am just learning from the people on this site and so will you! Be strong & tell your husband you have found a support group. Let him know you understand his confusion but you have to focus on getting better not educating him. :-) Michele
