Possible Reason Why Lab Tests are Negative for Parasites

Dear Edith,
Parasite charateristics are limited to those that have been discovered and verified per centers for disease control. There is a list of possible parasites that each lab examines and looks for.Even if the thing is moving all over the place,it does not exit if it does not meet the criteria of any known enity.
Also, there is the very real prejudgement of neurosis or psychosis. We know what we are dealing with but since others haven't experienced it,it is easier to dimiss.Often in the medical community, things that don't fall into the usual categories are difficult to diagnose. There is also the need of the practioner to be accepted.Championing a group of suffering people in untread territory is not a safe path.Everyone who takes this road runs the risk of ridicule. Many times the fear of professional damage outweighs the compassion we wish was inherent in our medical caregivers.
My prayer is that there will be concerned, compassionate people willing to take a brave stance and give us what we need.my fear is that there will be many more affected people before they take a serious look. With all we don't know, they are seriously putting themselves at risk by denying this exits.I feel it is a possible epidemic in the making.
God bless and keep us all

Thanks for your comments. But why wouldn't Metametrix labs strive to come up with a test for the Morgellons parasites. They aren't mainstream and they have a special person, according to Pamela Crane, who oversees our tests, so they are on our side and trying to help us. Maybe labs don't create tests, I don't know who does. I was also reading a site about bird mites and saw so many similarities--everyone from exterminators to doctors telling the sufferers they found nothing, information on clearing their homes and bodies not easy to find except on special internet sites, and so on. However since bird mites are insects (which Morgellons parasites are not) they can be tested and test positive. All the best, Edith

Edith,

I'm no scientist either, just a person with Morgellons, an internet connection, and an insatiable desire to know "why".

I'm sure that the Morgellons critters do have DNA. I think there are a several reasons Morgellons hasn't been identified by mainstream medicine. First, it is a critter that they believe cannot be a pathogen and simply don't look. Second, the little critter doesn't look like much like a pathogen, rather it looks much like aberrant skin cells and fibrosis that have been caused by trauma (scratching). Third, paradigms in medicine change at glacial rates. Just look at how long it took from the time that Helicobacter pylori was proposed as a cause of stomach ulcers, it took years if not decades.

In defense of mainstream medicine: They have learned from the school of hard knocks to be cautious about new discoveries.

Don't worry there are many of us working behind the scenes trying to get this disease recognized by mainstream medicine.

There is good news. You don't have to know what causes Morgellons to get over it and I have proof. Mel has recovered from Morgellons, has a website that tells how he did it, and many people that are doing what he did are getting better.
