Also, there is the very real prejudgement of neurosis or psychosis. We know what we are dealing with but since others haven't experienced it,it is easier to dimiss.Often in the medical community, things that don't fall into the usual categories are difficult to diagnose. There is also the need of the practioner to be accepted.Championing a group of suffering people in untread territory is not a safe path.Everyone who takes this road runs the risk of ridicule. Many times the fear of professional damage outweighs the compassion we wish was inherent in our medical caregivers. My prayer is that there will be concerned, compassionate people willing to take a brave stance and give us what we need.my fear is that there will be many more affected people before they take a serious look. With all we don't know, they are seriously putting themselves at risk by denying this exits.I feel it is a possible epidemic in the making. God bless and keep us all |
