Kim Schierer 8/26/2009 11:59:41 AM MST | I just wanted to say that I became infested with bird mites June 2008 after a bird got into our home and died in the bathroom vent. When the dead bird was removed, mites were on a broom used to remove it and I touched the broom and became infested. I could visible see them crawling up my arms and all over, to my eyes even, as they will migrate to moisture. They are visible at times when they have had a blood meal and were darker but a lot of the times they were not visible, microscopic. I was able to take a sample to an entomologist who confirmed the mite was a cyst mite. They can make a human their host, my husband then became infested. We cleaned and bagged things and did all we could. I was mostly attacked at night- in my eyes, ears, nose and even private areas. The crawling sensation is the worst! We ended up staying in a hotel 2 months, throwing everything out and removing our carpet and replaced with pergo flooring. We spend over $20,000 and are finally not infested anymore. My two children lived away and have remained fine. Unfortunately sometimes from being bit by mites you can get morgellons and that is what now my husband and I have. It has been a nightmare and very rough road but hang on because there is hope. We have changed our diet too, no or low carbs, sugar, or dairy. Pray often and watch funny movies and try to remain positive. I will pray for you! We also take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda twice a day and 2 teaspoons of food grade DE, this has helped a lot! We also use new hope 2 soap and body balm from Trisha Springstead- that has been the key for us becoming free of bird mites! |
