4:00:03 PM | Sarah, as a matter of fact. I did actually have physical bird mites on me. I know this for a fact because I caught them. There are visible with the naked eye and unlike most mites they run, very, very fast. It is unlikely however that you are infested with them, they live in the bird nest for instance, and only go onto the bird or host to feed, that is why clearing out nests from birdhouses can be risky business. Are they some form of carrier? I am not sure.
I will be doing a new blog post very soon on this issue and try to bring some light to all those folks hanging out on the bird mite forms, invisible biting mite forums. To be honest, there is some kind of mite at play here, and I will offer my evidence in a post very soon. But are you infected with them now? It's unlikely, however, I did read an article that some forms were going sub-dermal, under the skin, but will cover that in my post. I think the Sulfur soap, Dr. Bonners Peppermint soap for washing clothe, and mite proof mattress and pillow covers will help you immensely. |
