Hi Shari, that's great that you are eating according to the diet plan and being able to pass on sweets. You were asking for more recipes and that has been one of my major focuses too.

I found I focused these first few months on getting all my clothing organized so that I had clothes for non work times and for work that were washable in hot water and could go in the dryer. That was through the summer months and I dedicated time to it. But it really helped to get that figured out so i didnt have to stress about what to wear each day and could do laundry easily. I also focused heavily gathering recipes for dinners. That also has paid off and stress is way down now that I have a good sized list of snacks, main meals, sides and soups, and desserts to plan from.

I've found good recipes in candida diet recipe books. There are a lot of them out there and websites, too. I notice though that candida folks can re-introduce butter and other dairy products into their diet after a few months if it doesnt cause a recurrence of symptoms. We M folk have to stay off dairy the whole time. I was wondering about that difference and if it was due to dairy being to acid forming for us. Anyway, made a very good Shepherds Pie tonight. Used the faux mashed potatoes (cauliflower, coconut milk, garlic, salt/pepper) as a topping over the ground lamb-veggie base. That was from a paleo recipe site.

Once I felt I had clothing and food under control, then everything else like the new cleaning routine fell into place more easily because I had less to figure out each day having made a menu for the week at the start of each week with the new recipes. The more that I could do without thinking too much, the less anxiety / stress I felt and feel. And that reduction in stress is essential for healing.

Crawlies will slow down with enough time on the protocol. It feels so good that they've almost disappeared for me now. It drove me crazy some days too and all I could do was pray a lot. I was often given the consolation of being less bothered by them. I was able to remind myself that they would eventually be gone and I needed to ignore them as best I could.

Your fiancé is having the same troubles a few of us have had with our guys. Mine has slowly come to acceptance but I did have many a heated argument with him to convince him that I have it and that it is serious. The specks and welts were convincing, but he still lacks total grasp of the importance of cleaning. Though we remain in separate rooms still and I guess will continue that until I'm well. I think it's too overwhelming for these certain people to accept so they use denial and avoidance. So try to stay compassionate with him. Its just too scary for him to accept. You have to be the strong one. As you get stronger health-wise I would think that you will be able to prevent from getting re-infected by him, but I don't think close physical contact is good. This is really a test of a relationship, married or not. But I really don't know anything about the risk of re-infection being new myself so I defer to the senior warriors.

May your faith stay strong, Mary :)
