10/15/2014 8:15:31 AM | Thank you Shari and Ellen for your response. I feel I need to tell a bit of my story. I have been a vegetarian for 30 years and recently transitioning into a raw food diet. I took a course on raw foods but was only successful being 75 percent raw using lots of green juicing and was doing this for about 4 years. Then I became infected on December 3, 2013. So now I am second guessing everything in my life. Before this happened I was a very healthy and active person. My symptoms feel like I have fibre glass on my skin with burning and stinging sensations that leave sores that don't heal. So after searching the internet for months like I am sure everyone one on here has done and going to numerous doctors, dermatologists and naturopaths who basically felt there was nothing wrong with me, I learned about Morgellons but was in denial for a very long time. One dermatologist said the sores were just Keratosis and not to worry. He even sent a sample from my leg to be tested at a lab to prove to me there was nothing to worry about but he also refused to do a skin sample as he said there was no need. So I basically gave up any hope of getting help or answers from the medical profession and felt that I was on my own to figure this out. I then tried the candida diet but without meat of course, as I thought I could heal the symptoms with food. But after several months of losing a lot of weight, I was becoming sick and dizzy so I brought back the fruits into my diet and although I have never gained my weight back and I am still getting the symptoms. I feel strong though and I am able to do a 40 minute power walk every day along with working a full time job, but my sanity may be at risk because of all the stress of cleaning, doing laundry, new sores appearing etc. I check my ph levels regularly and as long as I stay on raw fruits and vegetables, it is 7.5 but when I eat cooked foods it goes down as low as 5, so I am thinking that raw foods is definitely the way to go. I just need to figure out what fruits can be tolerated on this protocol. I was hoping there was someone on this site who has taken this route of all raw foods including fruits and has been successful. If that's not the case, what fruits besides granny smith apples can be eaten. There is so much goodness and fibre in fruits that it seems unhealthy to totally eliminate them from ones diet for 18 months or longer. I just don't want to go back to feeling weak and dizzy again and at this point I cannot afford to lose any more weight. I would like to get my diet in order before I start the protocol as I know it will be too stressful to do both. I listened to a podcast with Tawny and that was the route she took, also financially I have to figure this out once I find out what the costs will be. Any input would be welcomed. Kim |
