10/17/2014 10:13:43 AM | Hello Kim, First, thank you for your courage and honesty. The story you tell shows how much focus and discipline you have towards maintaining your health. This disease is complicated, mysterious and very challenging. Because the scientific and medical community offer no help means that people like yourself are suffering and resorting to the internet to get answers. Now you can take that as a good news or bad news fact. Here's some good news. Mel, with monitoring by his doctor, and by trial and error, figured out a plan that works. When I got sick, I needed something to follow, as I was too scared and confused to deviate from the plan. All the heavy lifting has been done for you and others! When I re-read my old posts, I am amazed that after 2-3 months my symptoms were pretty much gone. I continued to stay on the entire protocol including MMS for a year. I added fruits in about month 8 or 9. I know a fair amount about nutrition and know that the fiber, vitamins and minerals you find in fruit can also be found in vegetables, and with the supplements, you will not be malnourished. The weakness may be coming from too much exercise, too much work, and not enough rest. Do not underestimate the way this pathogen ravages your immune system. I also want to mention that I started taking the supplements and made the diet changes at the same time. I started taking the MMS one month after starting the supplements, as it states in Mel's protocol page. I never checked my ph, mainly because I was overwhelmed and just stuck to alkaline foods as best I could. I know it is tempting to tweak it and adapt the diet to your beliefs about nutrition. This disease is a strange animal. We know it feeds on sugar. The protocol police are not going to bang on your door forcing you to give up your fruit. When you do some of the parts, but not all, you have no idea what is working and what is not. Here's the bad news. No matter how many times we, the volunteers on this site, repeat the same things, we know not everyone is willing or able to do this. It can be very discouraging. I work in the field of Human Services and I have learned over the years that: 1. We can't save everyone, and 2. We can't want it more than you do. Everyone who takes the time out of their day to help answer your questions and concerns wants you to get well. But we can't want it more than you. It really is up to you - go ALL in if you want to follow this at all. Stay strong! Ellen |
