I live in a cold climate, too. I wore hats, gloves and scarf that were washable, and maybe washed every other day. For my coat, I would turn it inside out and spray with Kleen Green before I put it on. I also spayed the inside of my boots. I never used MMS in laundry. Hope that helps.
