Hello Girls

That’s a very good question, ladies. Let me tell you a story about tomatoes. I refused to eat tomatoes for the first 18 months of my detox. I can remember telling Mel that he should “no way, no how” be eating his chicken Parmesan as often as he was. My feeling was that between the cheese and the tomatoes, it was way too acidic. He would just tell me how good all that imported cheese was together with his home grown tomatoes. As it turns out, I have discovered that cooked tomatoes have some very powerful properties.

Cooked tomatoes are high in Lycopene. Lycopene is a carotenoid, a natural pigment made by plants, which helps to protect plants from stress. It also transfers light energy during photosynthesis. From Web MD; When ingested, lycopene is broken down into a number of metabolites and is believed to have strong antioxidant capabilities. On top of that, the bio-availability of lycopene is greater in cooked tomato products, such as tomato paste and tomato puree, than it is in raw tomatoes.

Go figure. Mel is actually benefiting from the lycopene in his “cooked” tomato sauce. As long as he maintains an alkaline Ph, it is good for him. Back then, I was not aware of this. Now I am.

So, I am inclined to believe that cooked tomatoes (organic) are very good for you and OK to eat. I now eat them two or three times a week. Just make sure your first morning urine Ph remains between 6.4 and 7.1 and “enjoy!”

Godspeed,
Peter
