Dear All,
Sometimes, a good laugh is just what the doctor ordered! Whether it's watching something ridiculous on You Tube, discovering a hilarious comedy, or laughing at something so silly you can't explain why it's funny, a little light relief can brighten even the most difficult day.
Living with chronic Lyme disease and Morgellons can be exhausting and stressful, particularly when you're dealing with challenging symptoms and perhaps don't have much support or understanding from the people around you. That's why it's important to find little things that bring you pleasure, even when life feels tough.
Watch your favourite comedian, listen to music and sing along (no audition for The Voice required!), or have a wee dance to a favourite tune if you're feeling up to it.
Get absorbed in a jigsaw, try something creative, or make yourself something delicious while enjoying your favourite music.
And if you can get outside, a gentle walk somewhere beautiful or a visit to a duck pond can be surprisingly entertaining. Have you ever watched a duck stick its head underwater with its wee bum pointing upwards? Look for small things that will bring a smile to your face. These things will also help your immune system to cope.
Livng with chronic illness can be hard enough without forgetting to enjoy the little things. So find whatever makes you smile, laugh, to feel a little more like yourself! And remember, watching three episodes of a comedy in your pyjamas absolutely counts as a important activity:-).
Take care, Chrissie
