You have so much about which to be joyful! You are SO close to doing your happy dance! I don’t have to tell you how hard you have had to work to get to this point! You’ve been extremely dedicated to getting well! I am so glad that you were able to have a much-deserved and needed “perfect day” that allowed you to witness your daughter’s wedding. I know how much she involved you in the whole process and how happy that made you. I can just picture you in front of the mirror that day, stunned to see the “real you” appear for the first time in a long time. Sometimes, when I have a really good day, I can see glimmers of the “old Jamie” slowly beginning to emerge, and that gives me hope, too. I’ve had a few of those “perfect days” over the course of the last year, and they are truly wonderful when they occur! I know how hard it has been for you to lose your beloved Terry. I have two other friends who just lost their husbands on July 1st, and they are both devastated, too. I saw one of the women, my friend Cynthia, this morning, and she could only hold it together for about an hour. I’m so glad that I was able to see her before I move, but it was heartbreaking for me to see how shattered her heart is. She, like you, was married to her husband for many decades and loved him more than anything. I will continue to be in touch with you on a regular basis so that you know you have support if you need it. Terry, thank you for your inspiring post! It reminded me that all of us are on separate journeys...and if we just keep praying and working hard at wellness (and that may not be the same process for everyone), then we can all reach that victorious moment, God willing! I love you, sweet lady! Jamie | |||
