1/21/2018 9:10:37 AM | Laura, thanks for the quote. "Persevere" will be my word for this coming week. I'm not going to lie, Chrissie, it's hard not to focus on the itchy pimples. They are the most bothersome thing about this disease for me. At times, they make me feel like a fox who has a foot caught in one of those bear traps. And like a fox, the crazed animal inside me is so desperate to escape it would even be willing to gnaw it's own leg off. I think it's important to be completely honest with my recovery in order to help people who might go into the search engine in the future and pop this post up, so here comes some new, unflattering news about my day yesterday... My skin is way better, sure. And my health is in a good place. However, I had to do a lot of running around at work yesterday. And tiny pimples reformed while I was doing that moving about. As soon as I got home, I went into crazed fox mode and ordered ivermecton horse paste on amazon. I know the side effects. I even read a post where John (whose advise on this site I really respect) recommended we stay away from it. But my desperation got the better of me and I impulse bought. Here are some of the 'fun' things I said to myself. 'I'm making my improvements up." "This new breakout of pimples confirms this. Sure, the pimples are way more surface and wayyyyyy smaller, but they are still there and so aren't improvements at all." "I'll always have this unless I do something drastic." And in the state I was ready to, too. Thank goodness Amazon orders still take a couple days to be shipped; it was the time I needed to come to my senses again. ;) Reading this site calmed me down again. I've got to stick with something or how am I going to get better on ANYTHING? Commitment issues have gotten the best of me throughout my life, but I've committed to doing Mel's protocol the right way this time and I have to keep my word to myself. Also Chrissie, I think you are correct. Our itchy pimples are a Candida Issue and not bio-film related like Peter hypothesized. I've gotten rid of the pimples two year ago. It was about a week BEFORE starting to do Mel's protocol the first time, and I wasn't as healthy then as I am now when I did it. I believe it was the ivermectin I took that made them go away the first time. I still had fibers I believe we are working with two separate issues related to our weak immune systems. Our candida and Lyme are pretty much opportunistic besties helping each other out to our bodies. I think this protocol, with it's anti-fungal magic, will heal us from both, but the right way is sometimes the longer way. Oh, I've done tea tree oil before, but I believe I have a mild allergy to it. Speaking of... Chrissie, do me a favor and try this... it's the thing that's making my pimples change in a good way, and I think you'll notice things clearing up for you: mix plain, unsweetened yogurt with whole milk. About half each. Make sure you have enough to cover your body, or at least your problem spots. (This is obviously not to be consumed. Yogurt might be good for us, but milk is certainly NOT good for us internally.) For twenty minutes before your shower or bath keep massaging the mixture with something like a mesh shower sponge. When the mixture drips to the floor of the tub, I just dab it back into the sponge and massage it into my skin again. The probiotics and enzymes in the yogurt and milk break down the candida fungus in the skin. Since doing this, my pimples have changed in consistency, and white flaky things that look like dandruff are coming out of them today. I think you might experience the same results. If you do try, please post, I'd love to hear how it worked for you. In other news, I ran out of my supplements yesterday, but my new ones should be coming in Monday or Tuesday. I'm hoping to put enough money aside so that I can always have a backup supplement package for when my other runs out so I'm never cutting it so close. It's just hard when living from paycheck to paycheck. That's all for now. If you're reading this right now, thanks for letting me post, Mel. |
