Thank you for bringing this up. I have felt just as others have the pain of the unbelief from the family, but now realize it doesn't change their love.
They do still care despite their skepticism.
It does not change facts. In time it ceases to be a problem. Believe me.
Yes,It is an added burden that those who are already low from the disease, have to bear, but while some families are supportive and believe surely, it is even harder for those families who support despite not being able to believe whether through fear or ignorance or shame.
They are like Thomas who could not believe in the risen Christ until he had proof unlike Mary of Magdala who believed instantly- yet both of these loved Jesus.
It is the love that matters.
We so desperately want them to believe us, that we let it get in the way of healing.
Miracles happen.
I look at my daughter, tired and over worked with caring for family of which two of us are difficult, sick oldies and now it matters not, that she still believes that there is no such thing as Morgellons "it is all in my mind". So be it.
Don't let the unbelief of friends and family get in the way of your getting well again.
