These stories are so funny I just laughed out loud.
I sometimes think I am related to Lucille Ball. The strangest things happen sometimes.
A couple years ago, I decided to bring the air conditioner in from the window. My apartment was in the middle of two floors. I opened the window and before I could get it in it fell out of the window. I panicked and slammed the window shut on the cord and it was hanging out the window dangling by the cord. What a sight that was.
I finally realized that I would have to let it down slowly and drop to the ground, hoping it would still work. No such luck. It pulled the cord out of the unit so no more air conditioner. My neighbors heard of my plight and lent me an extra one they weren't using because it was about 100 deg. at that time.
Last year when I was packing to move at the end of August, I went to get the air conditioner out of the window, carefully so as not to make the same mistake. Guess what, It fell out the window, same scenario.
I now live on first and second floors. I will ask for help from now on.
