Thank you for this wonderful, inspiring post!! I know I already spoke to you about how important this post is to those of us who are fighting or have fought this battle. It literally brought me to tears. You spoke so poignantly of all the emotions we experience in our journey. Attitude is truly of great importance because I also believe that if you don't have a positive attitude you will not get well.
Even though I don't fully trust doctors like I have in the past, my primary physician did make a statement to me that fits into this mindset. I did tell him I had been diagnosed with Lyme and M, (although I don't know how much he believed the M part), and I was a little depressed about it. He then told me that it was shown in a study that people who had cancer and had a positive attitude had a higher percentage of getting well versus those who had a negative attitude. He said I should try and have that same positive attitude even though I was dealing with Lyme and I could get well too . He was absolutely right!
That being said, I agree wholeheartedly that our own Leslie is the epitome of a positive attitude not to mention unwavering strength. She has total trust and faith in our Lord as well - something that is also so very important. The wonderful things that have happened in her life after enduring so much were, in my opinion, a direct result of it.
Yes, we can get well!! Fellow warriors as Karen said, Stay strong and stay positive! I look forward to cheering each one of you in this community over that finish line!
Love,
