The last contest, I was told, was a little more difficult for you all than in the past. Well by golly, I have done it again. I did have some concerns on how to present this contest to you, but I finally figured it out this morning, and here goes: To enter the contest, read the three following posts and choose the one you consider the most positive. You’ll have an opportunity to vote on the May 30th conference call. "MOST POSITIVE POST" 1) From the perspective of someone on the "outside looking in." When my wife, Karianne, first tested positive for Lyme, it was nothing short of an epiphany - “Finally! We’ve got a diagnosis and we’ll be in the clear and get well in no time!” Fast-forward six months… round-after-round of antibiotics, penicillin shots and a vague direction that felt more like sticking a finger in the air to see which direction the wind was blowing that day, we’d been left feeling demoralized. The low energy, inability to function, and host of symptoms that appeared to come out of a sci-fi movie, seemed to never go away. Never seeing my primary physician for more than an annual physical for as long as I can remember, being sick, let alone being with someone experiencing a disease as toxic as this, was something totally new to me that took a lot to acknowledge - and to accept. In the beginning there were moments in my head questioning - "Is she really experiencing, seeing and feeling the way she describes?... How much of this is real and how much of this is in her head? And what the heck do the moon phases have to do with this?" After witnessing the pain my compassionate wife was enduring, I turned to the only One who could help - God. In as vulnerable a state I was, so used to having control and taking a hold of the reins, I lifted my hands up to Him and surrendered control. Not too long after, the Elders of the Church that we attend, who knew of Karianne’s disease, offered to anoint us with oil and pray over us one evening. I was blown away by the setup. A dozen Elders plus the Executive, Lead and Associate Pastors who we’ve come to admire and by whom we continue to be motivated, had two chairs set up for us down the center aisle of the Chapel. We shared our story with them. We held onto each other as the sorrow fell upon their faces as the tears rolled down our eyes. We then received prayer - not one, overarching prayer for healing, but prayer from every single person. Not one hand, shoulder, knee or head on our bodies was left untouched by a hand of the Elders. Even now as I write this I have to pause to allow the tears to flow from my eyes - there is true power behind prayer and having a supportive community. But that wasn’t the only answer to our prayers for healing… That evening while Karianne was researching potential, ‘sustainable treatment’ for this disease, she somehow came across Mel’s website. Even with a limited view as we weren’t community members at the time, the forum posts that were available to read drew her in. Just as I was ready to turn in for the night, she got me out to read what she read. Not one single story, not one single word posted in that particular chain she came across, did Kari not have similar experiences and symptoms. After months of doing our own research while following a western medicine approach continued to fail us, Kari found this community right after we received prayer for God’s healing hand. Coincidence? No so such thing when God’s in control. That moment reminded me of one of my favorite bible passages: Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I’m not going to lie, participating in weekend phone calls for a few hours didn’t seem appealing to me when I could be doing other stuff with my time. But knowing this is my wife, to whom I love and have pledged my life and heart, in sickness and in health, I knew I needed to be with her. Now, I’ve been part of several communities in my life. From diet and nutrition, to health and wellness, to financial coaching, to Men’s church groups, heck - I’m even in a skydiving community. One of the trends about communities that I’ve noticed is that eventually community members either fall out or join others, whether because it didn’t work out for them or they got bored and wanted something new or different. But not this community. I’ve heard your stories. Where you began and where you’re at today. Warriors who have either beaten this disease altogether or very close, and you KEEP coming back! Warriors like Mel who struggled with this beast for years and on the verge of inevitable death, and found his way through Christ and now dedicates his life to guide you all. And to all of YOU in this space. Because of you and your trust in Mel, the protocol and, above all, our Lord and Savior, my wife has found a sense of peace in knowing she’s where she needs to be to defeat this disease. YOU are the reason we continue coming to the calls and to embrace the journey that we’ve just begun towards healing. Last year I got a chance to hear Patsy Clairmont, a founding speaker of the Women of Faith conferences, speak at an event. Her message on stage was “You are more than you know because God is greater than you can imagine.” Her message hadn’t resonated with me until now. When I hear your stories and read your posts about your trials - when you’re feeling low and isolated, weak and short on faith, lacking in support from family or spouses, and yet come roaring back supporting each other and offering guidance, I see servant leaders. And it’s through your actions, words and prayers that this message resonates… YOU ARE MORE THAN YOU KNOW BECAUSE GOD IS GREATER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE! Coming from the other side, I thank God for you all coming into our lives. You are all Warriors and have given my loving wife a new outlook on fighting this disease, and that the best is to come in our marriage as she continues regaining her life. From the bottom of my heart to the top of my morning prayers with God, I love you all and am so very appreciative to share in this community with you. God Bless you all. Joe (Karianne and Joe) (2 Dear All, Can you all right now stop what your doing , breathe, put your arms around you and give yourselves a big hug. Close your eyes now for a few minutes, still hugging yourselves and feel your breath as it goes in and out of your lungs. We may not be able to get a hug from others, but we can surely give it to ourselves. And if it feels silly just smile to yourself :-). Self love is not really silly at all, but actually quite essential. We may not be able to change the turbulence in the world outside. At times, we may even struggle to calm our mind as it tries to make sense of everything. However, one thing that we can always take control of is our breath. Once you have given yourself a good big hug, relax your arms and take a really deep slow breath. Breath in and visualise yourself filling up the lower part of your lungs just above your belly button, like a balloon and then exhale slowly through pursed lips. Do this for three in and out cycles. This will only take 60 seconds and can be done anytime and anywhere!! So when you are stressed practice this slow abdominal breathing. This deep breathing has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, anxiety, anger and Inflammation by stimulating the Vagus nerve, which instantly activates the relaxation response of your parasympathetic nervous system. It also helps stabilise your heart rate. I hope that we will all take the time to do this for ourselves. Sometimes, all that it takes is just that little bit of calm to get us through the day :-). Love Chrissie 3) Hello My Fellow Warriors, Wow! I listened to this wonderful, glorious confession of wellness from Paula. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. But when I heard Mel cry it was all over for me. I just broke down in tears just knowing exactly how Paula and Mel felt. The joy of their health being restored is overwhelmingly glorifying!! We are all fighting with everything in our souls to be healthy and well again. It is so wonderful and reassuring to hear Paula and many others confessions of having their health restored. We have been giving the same opportunity to get well. Through Gods grace ; Mel has provided us with everything we need to do just that. All we have to do is follow the rules of the protocol. You must be obedient and listen to Mel. How much more could you ask for. You have a wonderful faithful mentor, "MEL." who has devoted his entire life to helping us. Mel has provided us with the protocol to wellness along with his personal coaching of priceless experience and knowledge. I have been on this journey for three years in June. But I have only been on the protocol for a little over two years. I have been extremely dedicated and determined to get well. I have never missed a supplement or my WPS. I have never cheated on the diet. I look at cookies and drool but then I say...NO, I want to get well. This journey is going to be one of the hardest things we will endure during our lifetimes. We all must fight like Paula and Mel and so many more that have gotten well. I am now 95% well. I have fought with everything I have in my soul. I will make it to the end. If I can do it so can you. You must be positive and have faith in God. Come to the Saturday and Sunday calls. These calls are free and are diffentely one of the reasons I am at 95%. Come to.the calls and you will see for yourself what I am saying. God has provided you with everything you need to get well. Just open up your heart and mind ; Mel will help you every step of the way. God Bless you all. Terry | |||
