Hello Everyone and Welcome,

We are up and running, just a little late. So today we start
entering round two entries for our may contest.

Beginning with;

The Most Positive Post

1)
Hello Everyone!!
Since hearing about the contest and deciding I would try to enter, I have been contemplating what I could say or share about each category. The funniest stories and funniest movies are easy for me because I have so many funny memories and so many funny movies I like! But, when it came to the most positive post, I kinda was stumped. I have thought a lot about this all month, today is the 20th and I' m finally ready to share.
First, I was so stumped for days, why...I don't know! I am a very positive, happy, person. But I wanted to make what I said worthwhile and really mean something from my heart regardless of the contest. So, I prayed about it and in the next few days, I realized I needed to approach it from my own personal experiences, trials, and journey in life.
You see although I was saved at age 14 ( a real Holy Spirit experience ), and God has always played an important role and influence in my life, it doesn't mean you won't face some horrific, awful, situations in your life!!! I certainly have had more than my fair share!!
My mother was murdered when I was 11, I've been through two heartbreaking, gut-wrenching divorces and some other physical and mental abuse which I won't go into. We are not always blessed with great parents or families. My best friend from college told me once that if she had been through all I had, she would have committed suicide by now. What could I say? I just told her the old saying, " What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger!!
So......All I can do is share what has kept me from going under and keeps me happy and at peace!!
First and foremost, is....GOD!! I give Him all the glory and praise for my life and who I am and anything good that comes from me or that I contribute! Without Him, I am nothing!!!
The next thing would be keeping a positive mental attitude! I would like to explain why and how. The reasons for keeping a positive mental attitude, I believe is for these 4 reasons:
1. Healing- for the body, mind, and
spirit!
2. Relationships - family, friends, &
others outside that circle
3. Professions & Career
4. A Long, Enduring, Successful Life
These are the reasons for that positive mental attitude, but how do you keep it? There are many, many ways!! These are some of the ways I do it:
1. Nature - do you ever just see something really beautiful and it immediately gives you peace?! Flowers, sunsets, mountains, the ocean......
2. Animals - Boy, the love you can get from animals - they have innocent loving souls!! I get so much out of seeing different animals, their stories, their interaction with each other and the infinite beauty of the diffetent species God has created!
3. Friends & Relatives - staying in touch and sharing our lives is so rewarding and important through the years! They give me Strength!! Even if its not always perfect! Play games with your family, spend time wth them, organize a family reunion or a friend reunion! When this pandemic is over of course!!
4. Music - Good music lifts my soul!! Secular and religious, I love it all! I listen to some every single day!
5. Movies - A good movie can put you in a great mood. I especially like true stories about good, good people who have overcome great odds. These are amazing movies!! But, I admit I like all kinds of movirs except horror, I'm just personally not a fan. To each his own!
6. Hobbies - I have had many different ones over the years from crafts to gardening. Like Mel's trains! Hobbies give you so much pleasure. I use to snow ski, water ski, and scuba dive. Getting too old for that now! But my all time favorite is reading!! A great book is so enjoyable!! Which brings me to #7.
7. Knowledge - I don't think we ever stop learning. Take a new class, read the Bible, read books, learn a new language, or a new hobbie. Like the old saying that Mel often repeats, "Knowledge is power!" I enjoy learning new things!!
These are just some of the ways I keep a positive mental attitude, there are probably many more!!
I would like to go back to the very first thing I listed.......God!! Above all else.....Trust God!!!!! He gives us everything we will ever need and agape love!! There are so many, many, many promises in the Bible just waiting there for us to claim them. Wonderful promises of love, health, prosperity, and so much more!! God gives us faith, peace, and assurance!!! Spend time in prayer and commune with him. No matter is too small and no words are inadequate to him. He loves it when we come to Him!!
And most of all........Pay It Forward!!
Show kindness to others, give to others, do the unexpected! There is great joy in giving!! And lets just face it.....it feels good!! It gives point and purpose to our lives!
I pray this helps someone. All of this has helped me my entire life. I thank God
He saved me all those years ago. I would not have made it without him. I have met incredible people and been to incredible places because of Him!!
God has created a truly loving spirit in Mel's community on the website!! God has always worked through people and spoken through people!! We are his ambassadors!!!!
Trust God but don't forget to listen to Mel!!! I value his friendship and all of you in the community!! Be brave, take the protocol, do the sum of the parts, have patience, keep a positive mental attitude, and above all.....never give up!!!
I love you all?? !!! Hugs, Rockin Robin
