Karen 6/20/2017 8:18:34 PM | Hi Everybody, Has anyone successfully added chick peas, beans, and / or legumes to their diets? Looks like there are a couple of recipes on the recipe section that include beans...but haven't read much feedback from anyone who might have included those foods in their diet. Will appreciate any input on this topic...because adding these would open up a world of recipes. Case in point, I just read on a vegan recipe site that roasted chick peas are the "new crouton." I know we're all a little different in what we can eat or not, but I figured if enough people weigh in on this, it would at least be a starting place. Thanks! Karen |

Kelly 7/8/2017 1:38:51 PM edit upload | Hi Karen, I know it's really frustrating when you want to add something new into your diet, but your body isn't ready yet. I remember being to envious of people who could eat blueberries and strawberries, but I would get so much crawling if I even had two blueberries. I waited a long time and tried two again, and NO CRAWLING. Everyone's body is different and reacts to foods so differently. Just keep trying different things from the "Recipe Section" (in very small portions), and you'll find what is right for your body. Keep up the good work! All my best, Kelly |
Karen 7/6/2017 7:44:17 PM | Hi Chrissie and Deanna, Thanks so much for the recipe's and tips! I've found I can have a few chick peas and still be ok...just not the Beanitos...Drat! They were so yummy with the guacamole...but it was a symptom land mine. Love the roasted chick pea recipe...will try it soon. In the meantime, I found a back of roasted chick peas in the store that were seasoned with only sea salt. They're crunchy and good but not so good that I want to eat the whole bag (a good thing for MD people since the whole thing of anything can trigger dreaded SYMPTOMS). I've used them as croutons on salads and it was great! Don't remember the brand...I've already thrown the bag away...but if I buy them again, I'll share that info.
