Morgellons -

Hi Chris,

I really think you need to do what's best for your body. Mel says that we are all different, and so if your body is too weak to fight with only 30 carbs, I think you need to do what is best for you and go a little over that limit, but do it in a healthy way. Stay away from sugar and fruit right now and to increase your carbs, just add a little more healthy carbs like kidney beans or lentils (open a couple of cans and keep them in a container in your fridge so that you can add a few spoonfuls to your meals). Also maybe you could mix in a small amount of brown rice with your veggies or add to soups. But also increase your fat. There's a very easy bakeless almond coconut cookie recipe that is very tasty and full of fat calories.

When you start to get healthier and once you've put on a few pounds to where you feel more comfortable, then maybe you could drop down the carbs to fight this more aggressively.

I know that right now it's a little difficult to get motivated to cook anything complicated like the almond flour tortillas and hamburger buns, but there is a very simple almond cracker recipe on the website that is pretty easy to make and they last quite a long time. You can double the recipe and then keep them in your refrigerator. Then you can use almond butter as a dip, or even make an artichoke dip by putting a can of organic artichokes in a food processor with some olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Or you can make a green olive dip by basically doing the same thing.

I really like making riced cauliflower. Using your food processor chop up the cauliflower in small bits. Melt some butter and olive oil in a frying pan. Add chopped onions, then the cauliflower and then sautee until it's tender. This is really good and you can really jazz it up with some additional spices like turmeric, garlic, and mustard powder, etc. Or you can give it an Indian flavor with red curry powder. But you can change this up in many different ways. You're basically treating it as rice. It's so good! Also you can add other veggies to it and make it like a stirfry. If you have leftover cooked veggies in your fridge, just throw them in.

I also buy organic chicken sausages. Just check the label to ensure that there is no added sugar or white vinegar (apple cider is OK). You can cook up the whole pack when your feeling up to it, and then freeze what you don't eat so that when you're too tired to cook you can just pull it out of the freezer and heat it up.

God Bless,
Anna

Morgellons - YOU ARE MICKY, WHICH IS A HUGE STEP TOWARDS RESTORATION
YOU ARE MICKY, WHICH IS A HUGE STEP TOWARDS RESTORATION

Hi Chris

Thank you for posting.

I wanted to share a bit of encouragement. Everything Mel and Karen offer us in this community is such a blessing. When I began the protocol, I went down to 92 pounds. But with perseverance, after 4 months I am beginning to put on a little weight.

Today, I weigh 96 and know if I continue on the 30 carbs a day, adding grass-fed beef (first time eating meat in over 40 years), lots of walnuts, pecans, almond butter, and coconut everything, plus frying (also new to me), I will continue to gain, slowly but steadily.

It was hard at first, but once I started counting the carbs (yes, there are days I do go over 30), then looking for higher fat content foods and following some of the amazing recipes on this site, it was win-win-win for me.

I realize everyone's body is different and we all process food differently, but I pray this works for you.

Keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

Trusting Him!
Micky

Morgellons -

Thanks, Karen.

My doctor says I'm malnourished and cannot build up my body on 30 carbs per day. My body is too weak to fight this disease at 93 pounds. How did you do it? I understand you were pretty thin at one point as well.

Appreciate your taking the time to respond to my question and for all your supportive comments. Thanks.

Blessings,

Chris
