Geez, where to start? I am from Tampa Bay - a 59 year old woman, Vietnam/Desert Storm Air Force retired officer/veteran and I suffer from PTSD.

Now I am suffering from these horrible bites that are partly blue in color and it looks like there is blue 'lint' on towels and clothing. It started with my scalp itching and bites on the nape of my neck. So I thought it was head lice and treated for this. Then I thought I had bed bugs, threw out my expensive mattress and have been in a cleaning frenzy. Then I thought it was scabies and have been trying to treat for that.

My primary care doc that I have through Medicare looked at my head and 'didn't see anything.' Then I went to my VA primary care doc, then to the VA emergency room because I was melting down from lack of sleep and cannot eat much. This was followed by the VA psych staff calling me and urging me to come in.

I have lost nearly 40 pounds in the last 5 months, although I thought that I was losing because I switched to organic produce and gave up carbs and red meat. I am still losing and have little appetite. I can't sleep because I am fearful of the bugs, especially should they get on my face.

I have red bites on my elbows and feet now and a couple on my face. I am using permethrin cream, tea tree oil, neem oil and Benadryl for the itching, although I am so groggy I stopped that.

Got the crap scared outta me when I passed my hand through my scalp last week with a little styling gel on it. On my hand were tons of black fibers that looked like fishing hooks. Gross.

After that I started having black dots coming out of my skin on the nape of my neck. It only lasted for a day. I read something on a scabies site about this, so that is why I thought I had scabies.

Last night I bombed the house and today I took my two beautiful retrievers to the groomer for baths. I am washing everything I can get my hands on and bagging everything.

My husband is working in another state and thinks I am losing it. I don't want to go there to visit him until I get rid of this stuff, nor do I want him here. He thinks I am being a martyr. I don't have enough energy for that.

This started about the same time my husband put an old, nasty deck next to our lanai, then coated it with deck sealer. But when it rains, the water gets under it. In addition to this, we have lots of live oaks that constantly shed leaves and I am too wasted to rake them up. I am even too tired to pick up the dog waste, but we have dung beetles here that help me out. There are cattle grazing around us that bring them.

I live in the country where there is lots of wildlife, especially gopher tortoises, who leave their waste around the area. Don't know if there is any correlation here.

My husband and the neighbor next door have poured tons of Roundup on everything to keep the place from becoming a jungle. A few months ago I got some on me picking up a jug of it to throw away and the cap came off. Washed my hands right away.

Today I am just so tired I can't move and want to run away, but don't want to infect anyone with this horror. I served my country for 25 years, got through 2 wars, sexual assault and harassment and now it seems some type of bugs are doing me in.

Please help me.
