Peter 11/19/2024 6:36:58 AM | Hey Jen I really appreciate that you took the time to respond to my post. It means a lot to me when people respond! And thanks for the "castor oil" information. I did not know that! "Blessings!" Peter
Jen 11/16/2024 9:10:29 AM | I have done oil pulling intermittenly for years. Coconut oil is great. Either one that is minty or add a couple of mint essential oil drops. Or just go with plain. I tend to be a natural gal. Swish in mouth for up to 20 minutes. Key is to spit out in trash and not sink. Don't want to clog up drains. Other option is castor oil. Same benefits in less time. It's only 2 minutes. I tend to favor the coconut oil but whichever is closer at the time. Best time is first thing in morning. Afterwards be sure to brush, floss and /or mouthwash. Your mouth will be so happy! It has helped me with tooth sensitivity. Gums are super healthy. And brighter smile is a great bonus. All without expensive dental work. Some ayervedic promotes doing it before each meal. Wish I was that organized. If you try I hope your mouth will feel as good as it can. And you feel good too. In good health, Jen
Peter 11/19/2024 6:35:53 AM | Hello everybody While revisiting my journals recently, I was reminded of a strategy we used to employ for deep dental cleansing and better oral health. It was especially useful for those of us that could not afford major dental work. It is a called "coconut pulling." So I want to share how it is done and why it might be able to help. In fact, it is one of the best ways to remove bacteria and promote healthy teeth and gums. It’s even been shown to be even more effective than flossing. So here is more about how it came about, its benefits as well as how to do it. What follows is taken from Dr. Axe's writing. So here goes..... HISTORY/HOW TO DO IT Used primarily in Ayurvedic medicine, oil pulling — known as gandusha in Ayurveda — is a fantastic oral detoxification procedure that’s simply done by swishing a tablespoon of oil (typically coconut oil,) n your mouth for 10–20 minutes. Oil pulling works by cleaning (detoxifying) the oral cavity in a similar way that soap cleans dirty dishes. It literally sucks the dirt (toxins) out of your mouth and creates a clean, antiseptic oral environment that contributes to the proper flow of dental liquid that’s needed to prevent cavities and disease. BENEFITS To date, there are only around 30–40 oil pulling research studies reporting on the health benefits of oil pulling. However, The Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine did highlight a study that reviewed holistic approaches to oral health and discovered that oil pulling is one of the most effective natural health solutions known to natural science to prevent tooth decay and loss. Praised for curing more than 30 systemic diseases, the authors of this study had some profound things to say about this ancient natural healing practice: So there you go. Give this a try and I am persuaded that you might find it very helpful towards achieving a healthier oral state. Strength and Love, Peter
