Karianne and Joe 10/28/2020 10:11:34 AM | When I first heard Mel announcing a "creative" contest, my ears perked right on up. I thrive and jive off all things creative. I respect and find my inspiration on those things that land outside of the box. There's left brain and there's right brain. My home is arranged in this same fashion- there's me (the free spirit) and my husband (the nerd)- he taught me that little saying so its OK to say:) So when my detail orientated, schedule loving husband came to me all excited with the news that he had written a poem for the creative contest, I was shocked and curiously excited to hear what he had written. He explained to me that his inspiration was drawn from the iconic writings of Dr. Suess, such a cute and playful idea, I thought. He started reading it to me, line by line, and what started as a cute and playful poem, really started touching my heart. These FAQ's are the backbone and structure, the foundation of ALL of our healing journey's- an instruction guide on how to get better...and if my husband gets passionate about one thing- it's instruction guides! So his passion really started singing through the words of this poem. So much so, that I started feeling emotional as he read it, since I wanted him to finish uninterrupted, I held back my tears, and held them back, until he was done. Then I let out a big sob that startled the both of us. This sickness is emotional-I find myself constantly bottling up my emotions as means of survival, then something will just get me and I'm crying and feeling moved in a hard fast way that feels like I've just been released from a cage and into the wild. Joe said he thought it would be cool if we did a video reciting the poem like a back and forth conversation, which I agreed, that would be cool! I've been self conscious since getting sick- so I was hesitant about being in this video- but getting sick also led me down a path of self love that I had never known. I've also acquired a liking for keeping it real. We've got one life, one shot, so why not? Being proud of who we are at any and every juncture of our life's journey is essential in finding our inner peace and healing. A big part of that is stripping back our egos and letting our true inner selves break free. I say thank you to Morgellons for helping me identify the ego of my physical body and kick any feelings of self consciousness to el curbo. I've been received by this group with a love that I didn't realize existed. It's quite magical really. To be able to participate in a fun creative contest, that was rewarding in itself but then we received a generous prize on top of that, and all these calls from Mel that always lift my spirits and have me giggling- I am so grateful.

Karen (the LIbrarian) 10/20/2020 10:50:48 AM | Great, amazing, delightful, thought-provoking Contest! I echo all Robin said about the contest... and will add a few personal thoughts. So thankful and appreciative of the supplements that I received. But I for me, participating was really the true prize. The Conference Call that decided the winners was SO much fun! I felt it was a true bonding experience among the members of the Community. Who can ever forget Robin and MIcky singing? It was delightful. KariAnne and Joe did a tremendous job! Kudos to everyone who participated! For anyone who did not participate, last time, PLEASE PLEASE make an entry for next time. You have plenty of time to THINK and come up with something not only meaningful, but SUPER fun! Personally, I enjoyed working on fitting the names of spices into the song. It was great exercise for my brain. It gave me a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment to have come up with something fun. It was meaningful to have the opportunity to contribute to a cause that will help people now and in the future! So, I want to encourage each of you to begin stretching your imagination. You too can experience a sense of satisfaction when you have made something new. The Lord God is the greatest Creator, and I believe He has implanted in each of a a desire to create. So, jump in and go for it!!! Truly, I am grateful to Mel for moving the "Sum of the Parts" forward. We had lots of time to think and create as we do for the upcoming contest. "Prime the pump", "Light the Fire", "Rev the Engines", "Get set! Go"!!! See you at the races!!!
